I'm seeing optical trackers (sam and plane), infantry, and vehicles behaving very strangely post patch. If it's not known or understood I'll try to get some track from CA to demonstrate it, best I can show is a simple photo of a mixed infantry group next to another mixed infantry group with two vehicles, on opposite coalitions, standing physically next to each other.

Additionally, the fog of war type map representation doesnt show for this red group from tactical commander (or anyone else) and does occasionally flicker a red group here (20metres away) which makes me think something is wrong. If not for the fact the infantry aren't engaging, but for the fact the map icons dont register or "detect"

I suspect something in the VISUAL detection code has changed.

Are you trying this on your local machine or on server/MP environment?

I found really strange ( and similar ) behavior putting mission on server with the --norender option

Hi, sorry to respond so late.

It's a DS and --norender is called by default. I tried to run DS without --norender but it makes an error of dx11, I don't believe it is possible to run DS without the --norender. I could only fiddle about with the production server for so long, it takes server server instances down so It is not easy to test anything like that.

As a test to see the differences, I see your point. It might be reproducible with something far more simple. I'd test with the same simple mission but i'm shooting blind, if I knew how to reproduce I'd have an example ready.

Have you got anything simple and reproducible yet either?

Cancel that, I realise I've been talking about the same issue as in this post https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242981 already reported in another section.

I believe it's not just infantry though, I see it any time two groups only have visual detection to go on and cannot see the other. With mixed detection types it seems to work but not up close hence my MP video of the Harrier taking on two Mig29's from behind and below and winning, despite having been fired at and chased by these Migs a few moments earlier.

I've also seen Infantry not firing on Helicopter players at all, but in a mixed group with some light armour, the armour does fire, but at a much less aggressive pace than before.

I've realised this is NOT the norender bug. It happens locally too.

AI visual detection is poor. It's disguised by groups with other detection like IR and such. Infantry and basic armour are unable to combat properly. Tanks with IR are fine. radar isn't affected.

Hi Pikey

if you have a short track or miz that shows this clearly I will take a look.

thanks
