[REPORTED]IA not firing in MP -norender servers

Looks like some of us got missions in MP with 2.5.5 where IA were just not firing at all. No matter if they were late activated or not, setup as Red alert state, free fire, they just look at each other a few meters away.

 

Have experienced a similar issue with a WWII mission ran on the Normandy map with WWII assets, no mods.

 

What we found is that if we use the dedicated server option of "--norender", the AI will not respond properly/fully. They will attack targets specific to advanced waypoint directions, but not attack targets of opportunity. This goes for ground and air units.

 

If we use the full DCS install, we can use the --server option without --norender, and the AI react as expected.

 

So we are having to run a DCS server the old way (autoexec.cfg options work ok still) in order for everything to work properly.

Some testing done by one of the guys in our squad suggests it's any unit that uses purely visual acquisition seem to be affected by no-render.

 

 

 

Things like Ural AAA, but also aircraft set to "No radar use" were affected.

Interesting info, thanks for that. Explains why our pure WWII asset mission is having such issues. Now the real question is, WHY?????

mission

 

this mission run significantly different in offline mode,

Su-27 is invulnerable (not true to canopy)

Shilkas ang Gepards are disabled for run, because that units fire in dedicated server

Small ground battle is simulated, dissimilar, because only the red units fire (USAF Aggressors),

that is limited not to crash DCS in single player after simulation exit. (Because of the possible many fire events.)

 

I tried a workaround by overfly force AI PUSH tasks, but ineffective!

If there is anything we can help with to speed things up, I'd like to help. It's a very different game in DCS whilst this is behaving this way.

hmm, not a great bug to have in a "combat" sim, fingers crossed fixed in next patch

Tested in OB 2.5.5.32533 and still broken.

 

Please note that this bug should be considered mandatory for a Stable release!

To push this to stable now is an unmitigated farce; combined this with the equally farcical implementation-but-not-implementation-but-oh-wait-we-did-implement-it of the supposed VR improvements... well. The decision making on display is frankly astonishing. if not downright unprofessional.

 

So now we have to wait, what, at least two weeks to see this fixed in Stable? Likely more?

 

As a paying customer ED, I am bloody angry. Get a grip!
