It appears SAMs are not engaging TALDs if SAMs are not set to "engage weapons" in the ME.

But SAMs should go for TALDs regardless of the setting of that option since the TALDs are not really a "weapon" but made to look like an aircraft on the radar.

As far as the sim is concerned, they are weapons. They're carried by an aircraft and launched.

The point is that they shouldn't be considered as such since that completely defeats the entire purpose of their existence. If the sim does that, the sim is wrong.

I know, but I'm guessing that it's not easy to get around that. It's one of the sim's core functions. The closest I can think of is launching the TALD as a weapon object and then replacing it with a plane object, once it's clear of your aircraft. I completely agree with you, it shouldn't be like it is now, I'm just saying that it might not be that easy to change that.

It should be seeing as how it worked just fine a short while ago. :dunno:

Oh, in that case, I stand corrected. Sorry, I haven't used them that much

Yeah, it seems to be one of those weird fix-one-thing = break-another bugs that pop up every other patch. At least there's some hope that it can be restored to a working state in (reasonably) short order.
