Kuky Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) I was noticing a few buildings in cities that have flickering/shimmering textures as they switch lod's and found a solution by editing .../DCS A-10C/Config/Terrain/High.lua file (as I use High distance settings) I found that if I set two parameters in bold to same value the flickering/shimmering doesn't happen: district = { nearFullRenderDistance = 400; -- default is 800 nearDistance = 400; -- default is 560 here's a short video to show the effect before and after there are 2-3 buildings more near by that also have textures shimmering but they are not in FoV. When I recorded the video I used values 200 and 100 so shimmering can be seen easier (due to degration in video resolution) and with default values 800 and 560 it's more pronounced and is seen at longer distance. I couldn't figure it out :( Oh one more thing wrong with the mirrors... if you sit in the cockpit and move the head sideways (not tilt) the image in the mirror rotates but it should move sideways also... it's wrong geometry I was looking to change the power lines poles but can't find anything, must be defined in the 3D model lod's. I'll make a short video of the water... I couldn't figure it out :( I've already had a trawl through the zipped texture files in DCS WH and have actually located all the building textures.....thing is, they're implemented in a totally different way, and if i was to export my work into this sim it would take a verrrry long time. One day, once i'm in the right frame of mind to tackle it, i might give it a shot though :) 1
