bengo Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Hi, apparently this bug is still around in DCS World. Our server was running (paused by Servman because server was empty) yet it had disappeared from the master server list. It was not in the history either. STP Dragon Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Yesterday I installed DCS World (without modul) on my server. DCS Warthog 1.1.1.1 is still installed so I don't have to enter a key for DCS World. STP Dragon Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) DCS World on it's own is not a MP platform/SP only. It will accordingly not appear on the server list. As for the serial, DCS World is freeware and does not need a serial. Having DCS Warthog 1.1.1.1 installed is irrelevant. I did a test yesterday: I installed only DCS World without Worthog 1.1.2.1 on my server. Warthog 1.1.1.1 was still installed. It was possible to start the DCS World Multiplayer, logon to the Master Server with my old account and connect to the server by LAN. I don't have to enter a key on the server for this! Then I installed DCS World (only) on the notebook of my girlfried to check if you can hoste a server without key. No DCS was installed on the notebook before! DCS World was the first DCS software on the notebook! I was able to start the DCS World Multiplayer but I can't log on to the Master Server with my old account. (See attached picture) @ Viper: Yes, you need a active key (from a previous version) for hosting a server but you don't need a modul installed to DCS World! ;) The only problem is that my server is not in the server-list. Maybe I have to install a modul for this? Hm... STP Dragon Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The logfile says everything is ok. So, your server is not shown in the list - how did you check it, from the same LAN? Or from the Internet? Is it possible to connect to your server from the Internet? I have 2 PCs at home connected with a Router to the Internet. 1st is my server "=STP= Spare-Time-Pilots II" 2nd is my gaming PC I'm flying with. I startet the server using DCS World Multiplayer. I selected NEW SERVER, set INTERNET and used the normal port 10308. Then I startet the game PC using DCS World Multiplayer. I selected CLIENT, set INTERNET and pressed NEW SEARCH some times. I waited some hours but I can't see my server in the INTERNET-list. The server was still empty, no clients. Then I selected LAN and my server was in the LAN-list. I was able to connect and fly but only by LAN. ED Team USSR_Rik Posted May 23, 2012 ED Team Posted May 23, 2012 Do you use the same router for both PC? STP Dragon Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) @ Rik: Yes, I use this Router for both PCs since BlackShark 1.0.1 Last weekend I was hosting with 1.1.1.1 and it was working fine. @ c0ff: I selected INTERNET on the server. I selected INTERNET on the client but can't see the server in the list, so I selected LAN on the client, I saw the server and was able to join. Druid_ Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Try enabling port forwarding on a different port (say 10300) and set it in the DCS network options. See if it appears now. This worked for me. It doesn'tlike 10308 for some completely unknown reason. It should work fine on 10308 but doesn't. Its not blocked by my ISP either as I checked. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
ED Team c0ff Posted May 23, 2012 ED Team Posted May 23, 2012 DCS tries to open the port via UPNP if your router supports it. It's the case for =STP= Dragon according to logs. IADC Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Same issue as well. Running 2 PC's under same router. One of them I run as a server. They cannot see each other in the Internet gameserver list but will appear under the LAN connection to each other if eaither one is running as a server. My mate can see my games on the Internet server list though with no problem. Once this was understood we managed to all connect, him through Internet me through lan and fly a mission that was until it crashed. Once it crashed we reset the server and the client PC could no longer see the server under internet or lan and would not connect through IP either. This may have been another issue. Definately something fishy going on.
