Hey guys,

just want to share some really good documenatation about the SU 27.

SU 27 - the best fighter in the world.

Part 1: "Born in the UDSSR" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tD5VXttYF1A

Some historical background about the Su27. How it was developed, what other planes were there as alternative for the russians and so on.

Part 2: "On the way to perfection" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVZbHYDX6ZY

First Version of Su 27 did not win the competition against F15. So there were many changes made and these are described in this part. Also the well known cobra maneuver is explained in engineering detail (LIKE!)

Part 3: "Higher and Higher" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccTJrxVqw9g

Part 4: "Career continues" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbcOIf1WBPQ

I definitely recommend this video to every FC3 Pilot, who wants to know more about this plane!

Cheers,

Manuel:smilewink:

It's a great video, and very informative, but it shows it's basically a propaganda material for this Russian plane. I'm a big fan of the Flanker, but all those superlative adjectives make me dizzy :D

Support the Russian AF by purchasing the documentary if you like it. I posted the links to the wings of Russia website in the documentary section of the forum.

Yes, Sir, you're right that it is kind of a propaganda material and also this typical documentary style which hunts climax after climax.

But what's damn good about this video: The engineering part is so detailed and the systems are taught to the viewer in a understandable way and also you get some vocabulary.

So if you can ignore some propaganda, it's worth seeing!

Its not propaganda. This is part of discovery wings. If you consider it an USSR propaganda see the video below and what propaganda do you think it is.

I love Wings of Russia series, thanks for the vid. I would much rather watch some Russian propaganda for a change than all the chest thumping drivel we are constantly fed on western tv/documentaries.
