As someone who spent some time at Bagram, I would like to make the following request that I feel would add to the realism of operating out of Bagram: 1. I would like to see the removal of the pre-placed static ground equipment on Mike Ramp. It blocks the center taxiway between spots 11 thru 20 and 21 thru 30 and the taxiway behind spots 1 thru 10. It also prohibits the ability to set up aircraft parking locations similar to how many units parked their aircraft while deployed there. Aircraft parked in spots 11 thru 20 would park with the nose towards the east, and spots 21 thru 30 would park with the nose towards the west (See picture of the F-16s parked, satellite image from google maps, and the in-game image of how jets were parked). When parked on spots 1-10, the nose of the aircraft would face west towards the runways. 2. The Revetment wall on the North side of spot 20 sits in the middle of the taxiway line on the north end of the ramp. Would it be possible to remove or move that wall to the south end of that row to unblock the taxiway and fill in the empty space between the ramp entrance and the parking spot at that end? 3. Add additional parking spots and revetment walls to the east row of Mike Ramp (Spots 21 thru 30). I believe this will enhance realism and the overall experience when building missions out of Bagram, especially for those who have spent time there. I have always looked forward to flying ops out here from the moment the base was teased in the 2023 and Beyond video. I know it would mean the world to some users to be able to set up the ramp like units did in the past.

In military aeronautics, a good flight planning accounts for almost 90% of mission success... And for that, we are fortunate to have a dedicated software for DCS World: that's CombatFlite. It has proved to be an essential tool for flight planning and mission creation, from the simplest to the most complex ones. Unfortunately, it seems that updates to this software have now been discontinued, and it is unlikely that a dedicated theater will be created any time soon. The only option we have is to modify an existing theater and manually integrate the data we need. This is the path I've taken, and I've decided to modify the “Persian Gulf” theater to include mapping of the Afghan theater, as well as the data required to use all the software's functionalities. In the coming weeks, I'll explain you how to do that, and I'll direct you to the necessary files to let you use CombatFlite on the Afghan theatre!

What would be very useful is an asset-related element. At least one - Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment. During the Afghan War, almost every large FOB was equipped with a balloon with sensors to monitor the surroundings - RAID. The balloons hung all day long, non-stop. It would be nice if such a model (we actually have a model of a Normandy barrage balloon) was added to the set of objects for DCS. A 3D model, without any sensors even. It was so popular that you can basically see it in every historical satellite photo at larger FOB. It was a permanent fixture in the landscape during the Afghan war. Pls think about it too.

Hello community! Long time reader, first time posting. Call me JuiceBox, a call-sign given to be because I was the youngest guy in my unit (by far). I deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan as a crew-chief for medical evacuation on UH-60s. With the upcoming eastern Afghanistan map coming, I wanted to try to find someone who can create some of my deployment missions in the Khost region. It was the single most dangerous region of all of Afghanistan for reasons I’ll share below. I’m not diminishing all the other incredibly dangerous regional locations, but Khost concentrated a lot of conflict to a small area that the US was never able to fully control. Allow me to share a little context of the importance of Khost in terms of the war against the Taliban and playing DCS. This is a 1-inch-deep level of depth I’m sharing. We dive deeper another time. Khost is well populated, easy to hide. And because of some unique geographical mountain ranges during the winter, the ranges shielded the region from the heaviest snowfall making the goat paths traversable year round. This was the major insurgent highway. What also increased the danger of this region was that was only one developed mountain roadway from Khost and the rest of Afghanistan to the west. Known as “ambush alley”. So the insurgency had a year round passage. Needless to say there was a lot of activity there. I highlighted the heaviest are of conflict in the east side of the country. The farthest right side of the circle is Khost, and the mountain passes to the left of it. I hope the developers give the region a extra attention here because I imagine a lot of play time will be centered in this region. I thought the community might enjoy going through some missions based on real life events and situations that I experienced throughout the year. While I can supply the mission context, I need an experienced mission creator to help make it come to life. This region is especially great for DCS, the mountains will make for challenging air to ground missions, 2 major bases are in the region Bagram Air Base, and FOB Shank so close places for A-10s, F-16s, F-15s, B-1s and F/A-18s to launch missions from, 6 FOBs for helicopters missions, a secret CIA base, and several more combat outposts to support. There were 3 main FOBs inside of the Khost valley to the far east. I lived at nearly all of them and even lived and slept in one of buildings Osama bin laden used to plan the 9/11 attacks. FOB Gardez was one of the first US bases used by Special Forces in the very beginning of the war. Every kind of mission set can take place in this area. I or my unit was involved in almost everyone from SF raids, med-evacs, combat escort, TICs (troops in contact), fire support, base defense, hunter killer mission of a 61k lbs truck bomb (yes I was there for that), and more. Heck, we learned the Taliban had a ZSU-23 hidden somewhere (yes it was terrifying to go on mission knowing that). We never found it, so we can even do a SEAD mission. I would love to work with someone(s) to help create some real life context to missions in a very strategic region.

First off, let me say I appreciate ED for their hard work and dedication to realism, authenticity, and dedication to this sim. I have noticed some pretty terrible attention to detail on their Afghanistan map. I'm going to be "that guy" and even say it's an innocent mistake that treads the line of disrespectful. I served as a US Army 11B Infantryman in 2012 right at the very FOB that the "Urgoon Heliport" is in game. But it is indeed not spelled "Urgoon", it is spelled Urgun. And to take it further, the village of Urgun is actually south of that location. "Urgoon Heliport" is actually FOB Orgun-e where I served. Where 2 men died from a 250lbs IED only miles away while on mission. I can see the exact ceremony ground where we had the funeral. The Orgun-e heliport is south-west of the village of Orgun located within its "city limits". I am asking the devs to please make this correction out of respect for those that served there. Please change "Urgoon Heliport" to FOB Orgun-e and change the village of "Urgoon" to Orgun. Thank you.
