Me: Host Friend: Client Both of us flying the F18 in close formation, both of us carrying Harpoon and SLAM/ERs. Friend launches 2 SLAM/ER to a given target, we both see them releasing properly from the pylons. Then, few seconds later, i see both SLAM/ER continue flying our heading, Friend tells me "i see both of them turning to designated target heading". From my perspective, the SLAM/ERs are flying 060° / 25.000ft straight (also on the F10 map and F6 view), from his perspective both SLAM/ER are flying 095° / 25.000 ft (also seen in F6 view and F10 map). I also saw both later splashing into the ocean while he still saw both on course and even got a live feed from his DL pod during Terminal. What the F ? Any idea why two ppl on the same server see the same weapon do 2 different things ? No, there weren´t any other SLAM/ERs in the air, it´s just the 2 of us online. Edit: Watching my own track (server host), all happens as describend from my own perspective.

so in this thread . it explain that the smokewinder is too heavy. however i went a bit further to test all of the wingtip payload. the testing method is simple. have an F-5 with a single asymmetrical wingtip loaded with smokewinder as a baseline and see how the aircraft would react without touching the controls. and then compare it to other wingtip payload. as you can see with the track below, it seems the aircraft react the same way(in terms of roll rate) as the smokewinder when loaded with asymmetrical pylon for every loadout which brings to the conclusion that all of the wingtip payload weight are incorrect. now if i were to guess, in the original thread, it was found that they input the wrong weight of 200 Kg instead of 92kg, I believe this is a unit error that they assume they put 200 pounds instead of kilo smokewinder.trk 9b.trk 9p.trk 9p5.trk ACMIpodtrk.trk catm.trk

Hello, I noticed that the image on the mirrors is of low quality. Is there something you could do to increase the resolution of mirror reflections? Anything? Can you make additional options for those who want higher resolution reflections on mirrors? I use the highest possible settings (4K ). Display resolution: 1024 Every Frame. MSAA/TAA/DLAA doesn't matter. Best regards.

Hi, The original topic was closed and some time has passed but the problem still exists. I was asked for a TRACK and here it is. N.B. Its raw and radar is not setup etc etc etc just get in the air and fire 120 's at target and show what I see. It's so distracting as the flow from one box target to another is interrupted and then you press the wrong button but then you did not / or did you ??? I have been through all button settings on my WW Joystick and cannot find a double binding. I suppose the basic question is What is the view that one sees on firing the missile? What is its official title ? I have looked all weapon/target views and cannot solve it. Now if I go on a mission built within DCS with say a Sparrow it works perfectly. No disruption. It does not work properly on all Multiplayer sites I have visited . It did work once way back before say two updates . However I have even had to re install Windows 11 and DCS completely due to another issue with W/Wing DDI screens and Windows screen placement. Thats fixed now. So any help or ideas very welcome LastMissionTrack.trk

Reproduction: -SP mission. One house in the middle, first ring of houses 250 ft, second ring of houses 500ft. STP in the exact middle on the middle house. Make sure its altitude sits on ground level. -F16 with three bags, hot start, so everything is set up correctly -fly for 2h in any direction, and return and check the waypoint that should be in the exact middle -check INS drift after 2 hours = 400 ft -refuel, repeat: INS drift after 4 hours = 1000 ft -refuel, repeat: INS drift after 6 hours = 1300 ft This was the maximum INS drift I could measure. If you fly around the STP you can bring it to match better due to paralax. I suspect a higher drift in altitude to contribute to the big visible offset. Track attached. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/vb32dm3o09bztxvyvjiry/ins-drift-6-hours.trk?rlkey=50p1ixlfl17rg6b536zremeit&st=7hm9nemo&dl=0

Hi there! I´ve just got back into DCS with the fantastic Phantom II and the Cold War map. My system is pretty low end (AMD 5600X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3070 8GB), but with resonable settings, I manage to get 70-110 fps with good visual results. I use DLSS and clouds set to ultra. And especially during dusk and dawn, the clouds look pretty low res, and are wobbling (moving up and down) when using Track IR. Why is that? Thx a lot in advance! DCS 2025-04-22 13-37-27-05.bmp

Front wheel doesn't touch shadow when on the ground, seems like it floats above it somehow... In Syria is ok...

investigating F10 comms not functioning
Gil80 posted a topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
In mission 4, I need to report back on a ship hunt. Using CTRL+\ to open the comms menu, then pressing F10, then selecting F1 or F2 yields nothing. Also when trying to communicate with the carrier for Inbound I get no response back from the carrier. The radio is set to the frequency of the carrier. When not playing a campaign, F10 comms works perfectly. Any ideas if it's a bug in the campaign? -
Edit: It required me to switch the radios away from and then back to channel 1 before hitting the spacebar. All good, awesome campaign!!! -- First of all, Mission 01 worked like a charm and I was impressed by the immersion. Great experience! When starting Mission 02 though, I connect ground power, turn on the battery switch, turn on the radios, switch to Green channel 1, and hit spacebar to start the radio checks. However, no radio checks are triggered and Chevy-4 and Chevy-5 start up, taxi and take off immediately. Any help would be much appreciated. PS: I'm on DCS version 2.9.13.6818

I was testing one thing of the DCS Chinook that i was suspicious about. The braking force of the Chinnok wheels. Because i was experiencing some slipping that i though it was extrange. When the Chinook is on the two Aft Wheels. So in the track i have the Chinook at 100%Fuel (Max weight for DCS editor), parking brake set for maximun brake force. I put around 30 TQ and almost 4in.aft on the cyclic, to move the Chinook to that two wheel position with the minimun ammount of collective. To have as much weight posible on rear wheels. And at around 15-17º pitch up it starts to slip backwards, on a runway. LCT are still on GND with WoW active, the contact with the ground is good. So one of these two, the brakes or the wheels, cannot hold in place the Chinook. I asked a Chinook pilot for his help and he confirmed this suspicions. I will quote him without naming him, just because i dont want any missinterpretation on my part: "Hmmmm, honestly that's a tough one. Irl, most of these brakes are pretty worn and may not be strong enough to hold the aircraft in place with that much aft cyclic and power in. But in DCS, just assume that the aircraft is always brand new from the factory i guess.... I've noticed on Pinnacles in DCS that the brakes often seem week, and this would confirm it. The aircraft theoretically SHOULD hold position in DCS, imo. It'd be more likely to come off the ground altogether before it would roll backwards. Not sure on that one. When I'm two wheel taxiing I'm hoping my brakes work well enough to hold her in place." I noticed looking at real footage something that maybe worth looking to see if its related. The different behaviour in the rear wheels and suspension. You can see here how the rear is much more compressed in similar conditions in the real life footage, so maybe there lays the issue in DCS. Not the force of the brakes but because the weight distrubution when the Chinook pitchs up. (Real life video >> ) I think there is enough information to at least take a look on this issue. This is important for this airframe. Regards! Chinook_Aft_Wheel_Issue.trk

Reproduction: -Create STP in easy identfyable position -click ICP fix -dobber right to fix method: HUD -make HUD soi -move diamond to desired position -click ICP enter Note that the new desired location is moved only 2/3rd then it stops. Like so: Now do the same but switch GPS off before. Fix taking works just fine now. The STP diamond is perfectly moved to the desired new location. Seems like GPS INS correction is affecting the fix taking process. I have done these tests in active pause for better illustration. Track files attached. Issue might be related to a thread that I started about GPS not correcting INS drift in the main forum. Hi, A very wonderful and addictive Campaig, but at this point I am completly stucked at MISSION 15 because none GBU is guided by JTAC laser. They fall down on an unique point (always exactly the same ! JTac seems to point to a pile of sand ). Although each bomb seems to be dragged on the beginning of its course to the target. As my AI wingman is a total jerk, it's impossible to go further this mission and then end the campaign. I have compared my way to do with laser guided bombs on Youtube video, cannot see any differences (managing bombs and JTac). Am I alone to have this problem with the regular 2.8 version ? A new DCS bug ? or it's me ? (and as DCS has crashed for the last run of this mission, I cannot have video or Tacview) ! Thanks for your help ! Regards

investigating Cruise missiles are invisible to the radar
Northstar98 posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi everyone, Unlike other modules, anti-ship and cruise missiles (here tested with the YJ-83) are invisible to the radar. Radar range is proportional to RCS to the 4th root - a MiG-21bis (RCS of 3 m2 - see line 2025 of this) flying as low as the AI will let me at about mach 0.9 has it detected on the order of around 60 nmi. Based on this, a 0.121 m2 target (see line 27 of this) such as the YJ-83, would be expected to be detected at approximately 20 nmi (ignoring other factors). However, at no point during this mission (including using the ACM modes) are the missiles detected on radar. At one point I am following a missile close behind it and the APG-73 fails to acquire it. The AIM-120 on the other hand is able to acquire, track, home on and successfully intercept the missiles autonomously. As for other modules: The Mirage 2000C detects the missiles at ~20 nmi. The F-14 detects the missiles at ~34 nmi. The missiles were clearly visible on the APQ-120's scope at 10 nmi. Of course these modules all have different radars, with different antenna sizes, powers etc. Regardless though, the missiles are completely invisible to the Hornet's radar. investigating M06 - Missing Man - Мost buggy mission
big_fun posted a topic in F/A-18C Raven One Campaign
1. Who are those guys on the deck that I can see at the start of the mission? Balticdragons? I want a livery like theirs! 2. An error window appears before waypoints 2 and 3. The mission stops until the window is closed. The keyboard is disabled. 3. Clam tries to fly into space after Detach. Probably to Prince. Can't handle the breakup? P.S. I use DCS 2.9.13.6818.2 -
Just finished the mission and scored 80, which seemed odd. The scoring guide says its 40 points if player shoots down the helo, and 20 points if Tails does, but it seems when I played it, I was only instructed to strafe the front of the helo, and when Strike says to shoot it down, 1-3 told me to hold high while he went for the shot. He then shot down the helo. So it seems I wasn't supposed to shoot it down? Or did I mess up something else that triggered this chain of events? Had a great time regardless, but just curious!

Hello all, Trying to "fail" a system in the F-18 using the x: cockpit perform clickable action used to work, but now it isn't. What IS interesting is that I can watch the switch move, but no effect is taking place. Included are two .miz files. You can see in my triggers that if the switch is in a certain range, I will have the trigger switch it off. I watch the switch change position in the cockpit, but nothing happens. If I move that same switch by clicking the mouse over it, then the effect does take place. - Apache600 F18 HUD Fail test.miz F18 INS Fail test.miz

When creating UTM STPT - by DEST menu, after entering East/North numbers, at the moment of pressing CVNRT it drops the north value by 1 digit. (This situation can be seen fe. in this movie (13:07) . but i got the same effect every time also in other scenarios) In this example it changes the ending from 40 to 39, to save it at point with 40 at the end you need to write 41. The effect is that saved STPT is always slightly (south i guess) off the target and need to be corrected by hand.

Hello. 90% is max. 3rd modules off, no VoiceAttack. Played many times. 8 maybe 10 times. mission flow: SUCCESFULL HIT: FIRST APC with AGM 65 > confirmed by LOKI 24 SUCCESFULL HIT: SHILKA on coordinates with GBU12 > confirmed by LOKI 24 SUCCESFULL HIT: TANK on coordinates with GBU12 > confirmed by LOKI 24 ("splash one tank") SUCCESFULL HIT: TRUCKS on summer house with CBU > confirmed by NJORD 21. ("trucks is damaged or destroyed") SUCCESFULL HIT: HOUSE with 20mm > confirmed by NJORD 21. ("good hit good hit"). After this, mission SCORE 50, RESULT 50, after landing is RESULT 90. AT SCORING has bad information. NO GUNDISH/shilka info, but second tank. in game im not navigated to destroy second tank. few players reported before. What do you need for fix it finnaly?

When spawning with dynamic slot, if there's only 1 AH-64D in base, the option to join CPG in multiplayer is blacked if the player joined and left the aircraft. With the Mi8 happens when there's 2 helicopters in the base. The additional slots on each aircraft are needed as additional units in the warehouse of the base.
-
As the title says. If you join a DS in to the AH-64D while the server is Paused and pick a slot before the server unpauses, there will be no waypoint from the Mission Editor available. You have to release the slot and reslot when the server is not paused. Works fine in Local server and single player. AH-64_LaserBug-20250323-132848.trk

Thanks for finally adding the Apache to the RWR database in today's patch (DCS 2.9.14.8222 - 19.03.2025). Unfortunately, this patch has also introduced a couple of bugs: 1. The F/A-18C, A-10C, F-5, and likely other modules such as the Viper, can now detect Apache on the RWR regardless of whether it has the MMA installed or not. 2. The player-controlled AH-64D can no longer detect other Apaches on the ASE at all, no matter if they have MMA or not. Previously, only the MMA-equipped unit was detectable (due to its FCR emissions). LINK16 and ECM.trk i suggest watching TRK first. when I detect an aircraft with electronic jamming turned on through the airborne radar at a non-burn-through distance, the direction of the jammer should be displayed at the top of the radar screen however, the interference source target will be overlaid on the target displayed by LINK 16. When using radar lock, the current distance will be displayed on the HUD also, when my radar is no longer illuminating an enemy aircraft, its track file will take a long time to be deleted. (More than 8 seconds) the TRK playback shows that when I manipulated the radar to prevent it from finding the target, the tracking file of the enemy aircraft without electronic jamming was deleted first, followed by the enemy aircraft with electronic jamming turned on. this problem has persisted for several versions and has not been improved
