Dear Community, Every time I export a 3D model from Blender [currently: Blender 4.2.1 LTS] using the official Blender plugin from ED [currently: edm_tools_blender_plugin-241504.zip], I encounter the following issues: The Roughmet texture is not listed under textures in the model viewer. The textures in the model viewer are simply scaled down. Normally, the main texture (excluding glass surfaces) has a resolution of 4096 x 4096. When I check the mapping box, the UV map does not appear. In the model viewer, mipmaps are scaled down, causing the UV map to no longer align with the texture, resulting in red edges (red is used for visualization). Section of the uv-map in blender: In my graphics software, I have extended the borders by 8 pixels around the UV seams to allow for enough tolerance. Seam margin of 8 Pixel (vector graphics program): When I zoom out on my model in Blender, no red edges are visible, meaning the UV map and textures match. The exact same issue occurs with all other 3D models I’ve exported from Blender. Screenshot Blender 3D viewport (Render): I suspect an error with the export plugin. Can anyone explain why these errors are occurring? Thank you in advance. Cheers Homelander

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to making custom skins for aircraft in DCS, and I tried my hand with the JF-17 for fun (Unfortunate wording for anyone familiar with the plane). Everything looks great but I simply cannot get the helmets to work. I've attached my .lua file I'm trying to use and my buddy who has a TON more experience told me everything looks in order. The helmet texture loads no problem if I replace it in the Core textures folder, but I want everyone I'm flying with to have their own unique helmet. In addition to this: is there any way I can use the model viewer to look at my custom liveries in the Saved Games folder? I keep having to drag all my .dds and .lua files to a test folder in the CoreMods folder, and it gets tedious when you're busy with 4+ people's skins. Edit1: This is having the helmet loaded on the skin folder itself VS in the CoreMods Folder, nothing about the name or anything changed Thanks! description.lua

Hello, as a wee bit of a skinning 'expert' with IL2 i still cannot get the hang of how skin (liveries) are organized in DCS. There are homemade tools i tried, which one is actually working? ============ Instruction videos; some are well made, but i have three main problems with them in general: 1) i am quite deaf and the audio of the voice overs are often done quite vaguely and amateurish (sorry, been a pro sound for video editor for years). 2) Watching video's with a low resolution where you cannot read small text like file location bars etc. are more or less useless. 3) Usually one looks for one small item which is either missing or mentioned once briefly, and especially looking for it is just too time consuming. Now isn't there a properly done PDF manual on how you should get skins (liveries) to import in and work with DCS? ==================================== This ModerViewer2 needs such a manual as well, i spent half a day on trying to figure out how to get it going, but still have some issues with it.

I'm doing liveries for the a4e and having problems. the first is that my files are not in Model Viewer and the a4 is just a green miss. Second, my description isn't rendered in DCS. I wonder if we can create liveries for the A4e-c or is it just for flying use? A-4E-C-top_sloth-xcf.dds A-4E-C_ext_bottom.dds A-4E-C-fueltanks_150_300.dds description.lua

Hi, everytime that I save my file from photoshop (DDS, and standard settings) one side renders but the side I edited appears black for some reason. Am I saving it wrong or not compressing it? First Side The other side (same session too, just change the sun angle and the background) I should be able to see F14_EXT_01 but it's not there. description.lua 2nd Edit: Right, I figured out why this happens but how do I solve it? I open the file in Photoshop only for photoshop to open it as a 8191 by 4096 pixels wide canvas that looks like this: Any Idea of how to fix it? Thanks

Hi all, after many years I am still not able to open the ModelViewer. It is running in the background when I check with taskmanger but isn't showing up on my screen. I researched a long time and many fixes for others didn't work. I do have a c:\user\saved games folder, but it's empty. I changed the standard saved games folder (not on c:\ drive anymore) and everything is working fine with dcs. I think it maybe something with directories and paths. There are no logs created. Regards
