mr_mojo97 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Since updating to the new 1.2.7 patch this frequency doesn't seem to work correctly. Whenever I tune it in all I get is a constant tone and nobody will respond tanker, AI wingmen etc. I've tried loading and saving the missions in the new mission editor without luck. it never used to do this. Any ideas? mr_mojo97 Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 With the same frequency? I've not seen anyone else with the problem so maybe there is no fix. You tried a repair? Nealius Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yeah, I had the same problem in 1.2.6, again in 1.2.7, and again after the repair.
m9matt Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I have no problems in DCS 1.2.7 Please try the frequency in the following mission.Tanker Training (DCS 1.2.7).miz
Oznerol256 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) I have this problem sometimes. It especially happens when i do a cold startup in the Virtual Aerobatics server. Other servers and SP usually don't have that problem. I even have a .trk of that problem: Download client track Note that i already posted this track in the beta section of this forum. I can also create a few new tracks if somebody wants them. Edited February 3, 2014 by Oznerol256 I noticed the beta section was just moved, not deleted. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
bengo Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 If you guys have got a minute to spare, please try to fly the "Shooting gallery"-mission that comes with the install ? I can't raise the tanker-crew on the radio and the dme on tacan isn't working. I do hear the the morse-code from the tacan and the needle points towards the tanker. It does this even after I've opened and resaved the mission. Please test it to see if it is me or if there's a "new feature" in 1.2.7 ? i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5

I even have a .trk of that problem: Download client track Note that i already posted this track in the beta section of this forum, before it disappeared. I can also create a few new tracks if somebody wants them. I had a look at the tanker setup. The tanker had been tasked to be a tanker in the advanced waypoint actions, and no frequency had been set. All I had to do to change this, is click the task slot below country name and click the 'Refueling' slot. This then put the correct 'tanker-a' in the advanced waypoint, and that is all you need for the tanker. The 'tanker' command next to waypoint action 4 does not need to be there then. It's all in the mission design. Look at how I set my tanker in the above mission file.

The FM radio can't be tuned to frequencies above 76 MHz or so, so the tone is appearing correctly. Use the AM radio and select 150 MHz and the tanker will respond. The TACAN DME part in fact should work but doesnt. No idea why so far. 1

mr_mojo97 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) In fact I get the constant tone on all but, 151, 152 and 153Mhz AM, all others seems to be working fine edit - after another quick check, it seems that its maybe an issue with the mode switch on the AM panel - If I switch to AM it seems t work fine but if - like it always was - on MAN then the constant tone starts. Actually it seems to have the constant tone when on 30-109Mhz AM and 150 - 154Mhz AM. And now I come back to it and 150Mhz does not have a tone but all the others above still do!! It's literally giving me a headache now Edited February 2, 2014 by mr_mojo97 MSI M5 z270 | Intel i5 7600k (OC) 4.8GHz | MSI GTX1080ti Gaming X 11Gb | 500gb Samsung 970 Evo NVME M.2 (DCS World) | 500gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD (OS and Apps) | 32Gb 2400MHz DDR4 - Crucial Ballistix | Be Quiet Silent Loop 240mm | NZXT H440 case | Thrustmaster Warthog - 47608 with Virpil Mongoose joystick base | MFG Crosswinds - 1241 | Westland Lynx collective with Bodnar X board | Pilot's seat from ZH832 Merlin | JetSeat | Oculus Rift S | Windows 10 | VA |

It's literally giving me a headache now Please read the manual again! Switching the dial to AM does nothing else than tuning internally to the Guard frequency in AM, disregarding the shown frequency setting. Of course the tone then has to stop. Make sure you are using the right radio. Only the upper one (the one below your throttle levers) will accept the 150.00 MHz since this is your VHF AM radio.
Rongor Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I rechecked both radios in a 1.27 saved mission: The VHF FM gives the tone outside a frequency area of 30.000 MHz - 87.975 MHz and on 87.900 MHz. The VHF AM yells at you outside of 108.000 MHz - 151.975 MHz. So it's pretty much working as intended.
Nealius Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Well for others it isn't working correctly. The VHF AM radio is giving a horrible tone in 150.00MHz, and I am damn sure I am using the correct radio because neither the VHF FM nor the UHF AM will even go to 150.00.
Rongor Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 neither the VHF FM nor the UHF AM will even go to 150.00. The VHF FM does! But will play the tone of course. Make sure testing within a mission created with 1.27...

The VHF AM radio is giving a horrible tone in 150.00MHz, and I am damn sure I am using the correct radio because neither the VHF FM nor the UHF AM will even go to 150.00. You will need to provide a track. I'm assuming you are using the correct radio button to transmit on AM. Did you try the example mission I put up in a previous post? Old missions just will not cut it, even if you re-save that mission in 1.2.7. It looks like ED have changed a few things and a fresh new tanker has to be set up.
Nealius Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The VHF FM does! But will play the tone of course. Make sure testing within a mission created with 1.27... VHF FM only has two digits before the decimal. Not possible to tune 150.0. Old missions just will not cut it, even if you re-save that mission in 1.2.7. It looks like ED have changed a few things and a fresh new tanker has to be set up. I think that is half the issue. With a new mission 150.00 works fine. In 1.2.6 it did not work and it continued to not work in 1.2.7 for those missions. The other half of the issue may be that the tanker is automatically set to 150MHz and setting and advanced waypoint action to set to 150MHz may make it screwy.
Rongor Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Just to have all interested testers issued with equal information:
Rongor Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 VHF FM only has two digits before the decimal. Not possible to tune 150.0. Look at my screenshot above...and afterwards try those dials again...:music_whistling:

Oznerol256 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) VHF AM. 150Mhz. Sometimes it doesnt work. Log into the Virtual Aerobatics server and do a cold startup. Then tune the VHF AM radio to 150. It gives the the constant tone. Go to 151 and it disappears. It reappears once you get above the freq range (152mhz or higher). It also appears once you get below the freq range. If any of you guys have the F18 mod you can also view my track (posted on page 1). There you see the problem. Edited February 3, 2014 by Oznerol256 Fixed the upper boundary of the freq range [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
