My original post did not clarify the fact that it was Su-25T that I'm using. Right now if I use dumb bombs it defaults to CCRP and not CCIP. Anyone know how to go into CCIP mode. I looked in the options for controls, but didn't see anything that looked like it might be for changing bomb modes.

IIRC it changes dynamically based on your aircrafts position. So if a CCIP solution is available and falls inside the HUD FOV than you're in CCIP mode, if not it'll default to CCRP

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

Depends on your AoA.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I like CCRP, it's easier than CCIP.

Really needs a lot of practise to give a accurate CCIP contact.

Right - will be practicing both. Think I might just set up a small test range and what not.

I'm a little confused by this thread. I thought it went into CCRP mode when you pressed and held the weapon release button with the pipper over the target. Then, when you are at the release point, the bombs automatically release.

If the weapon impact point pipper is inside the HUD, you're in CCIP mode. If it's at the edge, you're in CCRP mode. To get into CCIP mode, either be low and fast or be in a steep dive.

Easier to get in the general area of the target, hard to score a direct hit on the target.

CCIP bombing does take a lot of practice, because you need to be in a stable steep dive with the pipper over the target when you hit release.

CCRP is better at getting bombs close to a target than a new pilot is, but if the target isn't both large and 'soft' you'll usually need to use ripple release and multiple munitions, because it's not nearly as accurate as a well done CCIP run.

Callsign "Auger". It could mean to predict the future or a tool for boring large holes.

I combine the two by predictably boring large holes in the ground with my plane.
