Skitter Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Hi guys, I started playing with CA and during my last game I had a couple of A-10s and a KA-50 on my stack. I bumped into a problem. The KA-50 takes L-L coordinates, but A-10 preferred the MGRS. I wonder if there is a way to switch between the two, while you look through binos ? Sorry if I am duplicating another thread like this. I'll remove it if I do. Thanks
ptako Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) There is no problem in using LL coords in A-10. Works like a charm. Just two buttons pressed on TAD and TGP and you can use LL/MGRS according to your needs. I have no idea if you can change it in CA, but LL is not a problem when talking to A-10s Edited March 6, 2014 by ptako accidentally posted too fast [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] -- "The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good shit. NoCarrier Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I wonder if there is a way to switch between the two, while you look through binos ? There most certainly is: L-Alt+Y Allows you to cycle between Lat/Long, MGRS, and the game's own coordinates system. Also works in the map screen and external views. 1
Skitter Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) Ptako: It is more a matter of preference. The guys I play with prefer MGRS in A-10. Also, I entered the server with MGRS set as default, so there was no such option... No Carrier: Thanks. Found it under "general" controls. Works great. Edited March 7, 2014 by Skitter
Maverick-X Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Keep in mind that Ka-50 uses arcseconds while the A-10 in LL uses hundredths. Its not that hard to convert those mentally, but it's nice to have the right coordinates right away

ABRIS can be set to MinDec, which is usefull for transmitting target coordinates to A10's using the MAP/INFO or MAP/ERBL function. 'Frett'
flanker0ne Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) I think the best solution is to have at least the 2 coordinates, MGRS and Lat/Lon both always visible and the unit in both metrical and imperial.
