Lets say somebody had the know how of ballistics and 3d modelling, is it possible to implement it in dcs world without Ed's approval? for multiplayer missions.

Aren't you afraid that they will come and get you? ;-)

Yes and no. If you create a missile profile that doesn't match what ED has, then people have to download and use your missile data.

Or you can convince ED to use your data, in which case it becomes the default missile data.

If you are talking about creating missiles not in game, I think so, although I am not sure how you would let the aircraft in the game use them, I have created a custom gun and shell for my Flak 88, but of course its for a ground unit mod and not a gun/weapon to be mounted on another aircraft. Of course, if you are making your own aircraft and making custom weapons for that, then I believe that is possible.

As GG said, if you are talking about updating something that is already in the game, then it would be best to approach ED and share with them what you have. For example I was asking about different bombs for the allied WWII aircraft and was told if I can get the data and model it I could have it considered for addition, which I havent done that yet due to having too many projects going on at once :)

So it is not possible to mod/develop ones own missiles for an ED aircraft? Like the ka-50. If I'm reading you right.

You can forget about adding Iglas or R-73's ;)

Yes, I believe so, but everyone would need to have it in MP for it to work, unless you are just doing it for yourself.
