Pledged $85. I should have got a P-51 key?

Hi guys.

 

Question as above; should I have gotten a P-51 key with my $85 pledge by now?

 

I already own the P-51, does this make a difference? It would be nice to have another key i can to gift someone.

 

I'm a little unsure, and it seems there have been issues getting keys to people.

I'm going to say no off the descriptions of the rewards on KS.

 

The reward for $85 was everything at the $50 level plus a copy of DCS:FW190 when it comes out.

 

$50 level was the $40 level plus either a t-shirt, alpha access or a manual depending on choice.

 

None of those levels give you an extra P51D key for DCS ($40 would mearly let you fly it in WWII).

 

The minimum pledge to get both an extra P51D and the FW190 keys seems to be $100.

 

 

The KS rewards weren't done very well, and I think a lot of people assume they're cumulative and include every previous reward when they don't.

 

 

If you think you should have one, contact RRG via KS, or lodge a complaint on KS saying non delivery of rewards. RRG either completely ignore this forum, or simply read it and don't post.

Thanks Buzzles; the $65 is a cheaper pledge that gives immediate P-51D access but as you say, that's explicit.

 

However what about the selectable extras? I didn't think I'd have any, as it doesn't describe them against the $85. However there's a rewards table down the bottom, with no $85 on it! Assuming I get 1 or 2 of these, can I claim the physical, digital or either? Although I get everything at the $50 level, there are 3 different options. Did the email asking who wanted what ever go out?

 

Apologies, this might be common knowledge, but the kickstarter page is rubbish and I've been out of the loop on here for a while.

Yeah, it's a bit pants. The rewards on the right don't correlate very well with the text on the main part.

 

I only backed for $40, so can't say for sure, but I don't think any emails have gone out yet about extras. Hopefully someone else can confirm that.

 

It does beg the question of what your $85 pledge is elegible for out of the stuff at the $50 level. Is it just one of those, or all three (alpha, t-shirt, manual)?

 

Hate to say it, but unless you get a response from RRG via Kickstarter (either by a complaint, direct message or if you leave a comment), you'll probably be stuck in the same boat as others and will have to await the launch of their website.

The reward changes during Kickstarter were a big mistake, as it caused nothing but confusion. I pledged 250 and received the P51 key a week or so after Kickstarter ended. I think many of the pledge issues could be sorted when they finish building the new webpage. That said I'm more concerned with seeing the sim finished than seeing the rewards.

 

One hundred and fifty thousand in kickstarter monies won't go very far, and Luthier has a history of overestimating what he can get done in any period of time. At this point, I'm sure Luthier is far more concerned about keeping the development alive than dealing with the awards. For me personally, there is no point having a P51 until there is a WW2 theater to fly it in. I have no interest in flying a P51 or FW190 on a modern map.

You may want to read Kickstarter update #30 in which he explains he is close to finishing that Rewards database. It was apparently a nightmare combining Kickstarter records with Paypal records and that caused the delay.

I don't believe that adding the few Paypal pledges was a major problem. Getting someone to build the website and including software to deal with pledges was probably the biggest stumbling block. I believe one of the latest updates mentioned that they finally had someone working on the website.

It was mentioned that they would try and find a way of letting us pick and choose if we wanted to adjust our rewards, if say you had the pledge for manuals and wished to have the p 51 instead it might be possible. Our best bet is to let them sort out the pledges and the rewards web site then start asking if any changes are possible. I think most of us who have done KS before know that it takes time, It was very confusing as the KS pledge ladder got changed at our request then PayPal got added at our request and of course there are pledgers that have not got a DCS account so will need to be contacted to make one to tie the rewards to. Or as in my case I have 2 different pledges on my different KS accounts I forgot I already pledged doh, at least they arn't the same.

I've displayed my talent for rubbish timing as the new backers pages have appeared a day later, making things much clearer. I seems I will get a second P-51 key, just not yet.
