Needing a little help. I'm using the JackBauer profile for my X52. I've been following through on these steps, (reference the AGM-65, post number 3173624).

I do the Coolie switch forward short, to get the mav sensor. I then do my China Hat Forward Long, but my mav sensor is never on my recent SPI. It always goes to the waypoint center point.

I've followed the tutorial steps verbatim. No matter what I do, my mav keeps looking at the waypoint center point, rather than slaving over to the TPI on the truck I did via TMS foward long.

I'm flying in the Easy-East Georgia-Spring

From memory so hope this is right...

The Coolie hat forward will switch the HUD to be SOI, then when you press China hat fwd long, it will default to the waypoint.

After you have identified the target and made it SPI using the TGP, Coolie hat forward and then DSMS right until the mav is the selected weapon.

Then switch the right MFD to the mav seeker, Coolie right short, make it the SOI, Coolie right long, China Hat forward long will slew the seeker to the SPI, which should be your target. then press TMS up short until the seeker locks. You know it has locked on when the cross hairs start to tremble. Rifle away.

TMS forward long will make your TGP (if SOI) SPI, otherwise your waypoint will be SPI, this is why your Mav is slewing to the WP instead of your TGP-Target.

TMS forward short is then used to accuire lock with the Mav. If it doesn't lock you are too far away, just try again.

that was exactly my issue. My TMS Forward Long, wasn't long enough. After giving the TMS forward long, a nice long, I was able to successfully engage 4 targets, and have 4 kills... Love this sim! :)

thanks txmtb & mav, for the feedback.

You're welcome. Another short hint regarding the SPI: you can see your SPI on the TAD, it is represented by the weddingcake-symbol. (white-outline symbol that looks like a multilayer cake). You either see it in the current waypoint/markpoint symbol or around your TGP marker. China down long resets SPI to Steerpoint.

In the Ralfi's vid he slaved the Maverick to his TGP (mav's seeker was moving with the TGP), though China Hat forward long says it "slaves all to SPI", and SPI is stationery. So how was this done? Or was the TGP hooked in area mode? There is something I don't get here...
