Offlinepilot Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 DCS andCoretex? Or have Coretex taken over the project entirely? When I finally considered the F-18 as something fun, I noticed that I earlier ignored all news about it :helpsmilie:
kontiuka Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 ED is working on the F/A-18C. Coretex is working on the F/A-18E. Two completely separate projects. 1
Offlinepilot Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Thanks a lot for the info.. soon I might be updated again of what is what and who makes it :)
kontiuka Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Well, there hasn't really been a lot of news about either project. Hopefully, we'll start seeing some real progress and updates later this year. Edited March 27, 2014 by kontiuka
Pyroflash Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Earliest update on the Charlie hornet expected this summer some time. Who knows on the Echo, maybe we will get an update earlier, but knowing the complexity of the bird, probably later. Right now we actually know a little more about the Echo than the Charlie. Coretex was a bit more.. ah.. open with its higher level design decisions. Edited March 27, 2014 by Pyroflash 1 If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Offlinepilot Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Thanks for info.. Currently most interested in the C model (DCS (ED)) one. And Summer sounds like a really nice time for a preorder, as I get my taxreturn then.. instead of ruining my economy at the dentist this month! :noexpression:
Pyroflash Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Thanks for info.. Currently most interested in the C model (DCS (ED)) one. And Summer sounds like a really nice time for a preorder, as I get my taxreturn then.. instead of ruining my economy at the dentist this month! :noexpression: Sorry to get your hopes up, but the summer date was only for more information. Knowing ED, it will probably be released soon after, but there really isn't any concrete information on supposed release dates. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
joey45 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I wouldn't expect the C this year.... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
Offlinepilot Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Well I could use a little sun tan :D.. and play a little IL2:BoS (that is really really good (super good for being an alpha))
Winfield_Gold Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Currently, Approx 2300 confirmed A-F's have been built with a further 1500 Super Hornets still in production for use around the world

WildBillKelsoe Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 You can rest assured to check back around 2015-2016-ish when all the sidekick projects have been concluded. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
howie87 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I think officially it's two, but we won't be seeing any news on the DCS hornet until at least summer according to Wags. As for Cortex, that's anyone's guess.
