Single player missions at current settings no problem. But multiplayer its awful. Is there anything I can do speed it up?

There seems to be a lot of disk access in MP which slows it down. Do I need a faster disk transfer rate?

Your system is good, I wonder if it's just more going on in mp then in sp for you.

Lag -> Network issue

Low FPS -> system issue

Anyways, is it in all of MP or only for certain times (like startup, or tayiing near others)?

I heard about highly detailed models of other players' aircrafts bringing FPS down.

You can run resmon.exe (enter into start menu) and look at the Disk tab while DCS is running. There are two lines: Data transfer rate and I/Os. See if something maxes out regularly.

What connection speed are you running in the MP options menu?

In the multiplayer environment there are usually more objects than in single player, especially players aircraft and missiles etc. When these aircraft get within your vicinity your system will load these shapes so your HDD will be working. If your HDD gets overloaded this creates the freezes and stutters you see and you interpret as lag. Others will probably see you lag as the information you're giving the server is suddenly strangled by your systems temporary slow down.

Basically getting a decent SSD HD should help improve this situation.

Not necessarily an Internet issue. I was having issues with my frames freezing in both SP and MP, but more often in MP. Everybody kept telling me it was my Internet connection. Turns out I was getting high response times from DCS reading from my TEMP folder and pagefile at the same time. Moving one to another hard drive fixed my issue even though both were initially on an SSD. Samsung 840 Pro, 256 GB with 8 GB of DDR 1333 RAM. Moving up to DDR 1600 16 GB didn't fix it but reduced the frequency at which it was happening.

Edit: I should mention that everything was at stock speeds. No overclocking or memory timings were adjusted.

The sign. is my system. SSD is great for loading times etc (v1.2.7 has an issue about loading time though). But it won't increase MP in-game performance.

Because I encounter FPS problem in MP game too. In SP missions I get 50-60 and maybe 80 FPS, but in MP session sometimes I see 12 FPS when at a crowd airport.
