lunaticfringe Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Yes, I've played DCS FC3 MP, and it doesn't have a damn thing to with the conversation. What gamey, edge-playing garbage you can get away with now becomes less and less effective as missile performance becomes more in line with real world physics. Now, you want to talk about what works in a flawed environment, whereas I solely discuss what works now, and later. YMMV.

leafer Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) I think it`s time for full throw controls , my joystick is roughly 18" tall and has about 12" of travel on each axis ( not boasting here :) ). My collective is roughly 12" long and has 10" of travel , VRS in the Huey is virtually a thing of the past the collective controlled by a short throw jet throttle being way too sensitive i can slow down and land with ease and hitched my first sling load last night. Flying the Eagle with the stick is also superb and the high pitch and roll rates can be thoroughly utilised. The stick and throttle currently use standard Saitek pots through a bu0836x interface but will soon be changed for Cherry Hall Effect Sensors. I am happy to share any of my controller details if anyone is interested. I am! I'm interested. It's time I get cranking on my Suncom stick mod. Especially the Cherry Hall sensors, where to get them and your gimbals setup. Hopefully they're no where near the price of Cub's Pilot hall sensors which costed 50 usd each. However, it might be an improper representation of how said crosswind should act upon the aircraft, if at all.

However, it might be an improper representation of how said crosswind should act upon the aircraft, if at all. I'd suspect the aircraft simply doesn't start with the correct trim for that situation. (Coding the sim to apply "correct" trim for all possible loads, altitudes, speed, wind and atmospheric conditions etc seems like something that would make sisyphus envious.) howie87 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I'm not too worried about the sensitivity at the moment as both the Huey and P-51 were much more twitchy and sensitive before the flight models were finalised. This is still a beta and there are still some obvious issues to sort out. Give it time and I'm sure it will be amazing. Belsimtek hasn't let us down so far.
[Knight] Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I personally think that the AC is not sensitive at all you just have to adjust to it like in real life, it's a fighter. The performance is there if u need it. If you fly smooth and with precision like real pilots do its not bad. another thing to keep in mind is that any abrupt movement to a stick with with any high performance AC is going to lose control because of the sudden airflow over the fuselage is being directed in another direction. Trust me if your smooth with it it will bring you back home. http://104thphoenix.com/ https://www.youtube.com/c/104th_Knight https://www.twitch.tv/104th_knight 104th_Knight
Postal2 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 The more difficult for me is the refueling . I use the Hotd attititude is less hard like this ! because i have a lot of "Pio" back the tanker. EtherealN Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Whats wind got to do with Trim ? Yeah, wind shouldn't be in there, brainfart as I mentally went through variables that could possibly matter at simulation start depending on how the simulation's first "frame" is set up. The basic point anyway was that it is to be expected that the aircraft will not be set up with perfect trim in an airstart, since programming to adjust for all factors would probably not be practical. (Not impossible, certainly, but probably not the top priority.) Yeah, wind shouldn't be in there, brainfart as I mentally went through variables that could possibly matter at simulation start depending on how the simulation's first "frame" is set up. Maybe not so much of a brain fart... Remember that when you're airspawned, you're not flying at the instant you spawn, you're dropped into the world at the specified hight and groundspeed. If the sim gives you the correct forward speed for your airstart, but doesn't factor in the wind, then at the moment of spawning, you'll have a crosswind just as if you were on the runway - until you accelerate horizontally to the point where you have no horizontal motion relative to the air. Same idea as when you spawn on the ground. The sim sets you at a hight apropriate for a particular load. if your weight isn't that particular weight, the aircraft will pop up on it's gear, or sink down. Spawning with a relative crosswind might (briefly) cause the aircraft to roll - but it should settle down after a few seconds. Cheers.

How do you this ? . than'ks in advance! . I think this is due to an issue with the PTC (pitch autotrim). I believe this is one of the main issues that has been raised and is being worked on. Attitude hold does make it much easier. 2nd French Fighter Squadron
