Edit; My version updated to 1.2.8 Openbeta automaticly, probably after renaming the old 1.2.7 Beta, and this is 1.2.8 Openbeta if sombody get confused.

DCS Combined Arms

Flyable AC can detect laser ranger emission produced by controllable ground units.

This means the Stinger actually use ranging Laser?

If it does, why does AC only drop 2*4 Flares, after launch? Pilot have 360 view?

Edit; I see it's not totally 360, but there also seem to be a Su-25T jammer behind, se post below.

And what happened here, really?

Looks like the KA-50 using simplified FM, with the Su-25T electro optical jamming, a Cesium lamp at 6KW.

What Really.trk

If I remember correctly it wasnt possible so far to take control of a ground unit, designate a target with laser, and then switch to an A10C and track the laser with the TGP. So this update would be about something completely different.

You absolutely missed the point here, it's not about targeting Laser, it's about the Laser ranger, that some vehicles use to mark a GPS position, or measure distance to elevate correct angle on a cannon.

AC = aircraft?

But was buddy lasing also possible for one player switching from ground unit to aircraft?

Yes AC means Aircraft, and no, this was not about buddy lasing or targeting lasers. (And buy the CA if you want to comment here, please?)

My guess: by AC they really meant AI, just a spelling mistake.

I guess so, but players in AirCrafts that have laser detectors will also have this.

But I think all of you above, missed my question. This means the Stinger actually use ranging Laser?

For example.

Player in Ка-50 (or A-10C) can detect laser by other player in the Abrams (or other tank with laser). In the multiplayer.

I did understand it more like when you get targeted by a ground unit in MP your LWS will recognize that you're being laser ranged and rings a warning bell / show it on RWR?

...need to try that later.
