This is my first attempt at creating a mission for anyone but myself to use. I do have some experience playing with the mission editor for lots of tiny missions that I made before so it shouldn't be too bad.

The mission takes about 30 minutes. It has some replayability. It's a ©SAR-mission and the pilot to rescue is selected randomly out of 5 different locations and situations and on top of that the combination of hostile units on the ground is selected randomly out of 3 sets so there is a total of 15 more or less unique situations. Some are easy and some are hard but with a bit of evasive flying they should all be possible to complete.

Have fun!

Briefing:

It's early afternoon a hot summer's day in the end of July when the alarm sounds at the air detachment of the 2nd infantry brigade based at Senaki.

We have been informed that some 20 minutes ago contact was lost with a Su-25 on patrol along the de facto Abkhazian border.

Our mission is to locate and recover the downed pilot. The exact position is yet unknown but the interior ministry border police report that the aircraft may have strayed across the Inguri river into Abkhazian territory. We have picked up a distress beacon transmitting on the emergency channel (243.0 MHz) in that direction.

To avoid an even worse political crisis it is of utmost importance that we recover the pilot before the Russo-Abkhaz forces are able to capture him. You are authorized to open fire only in self defence.

Be careful. We do not want to lose another aircraft today.

And here are some simple instructions I made for the communication/navigation. For anyone that has not learned to use the radio/nav systems in the Mi-8 yet, this mission is a good place to start.
