IonicRipper Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 In the real thing, both the cannon and rockets are fired from the same control (almost.) I'm trying to replicate the same thing with my joystick by having both the gun fire and weapon release controls on the trigger but the game wont let me... Which I find odd since you cannot use both at the same time. The Su-27 in FC3 has 1 control for both the gun and missiles so I don't see why it isn't possible with the Shark. Is there a way around that? Is it possible somehow to have the cannon and weapon pickle on the same button? i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rapier-VCG- Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Yea there is, just use trigger for current selected weapon release and then select cannons. Will fire via the trigger
IonicRipper Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 You mean mapping the weapon release control to the trigger? It works for firing rockets but it won't fire the cannon. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flagrum Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I haven't tried it myself, but in game mode you have a single trigger for weapon release and cannon fire. This seems to be set up in this file: ...\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\Devices_specs\WeaponSystem.lua If you modify the line "use_single_trigger = false" to "use_single_trigger = true" it should allow you to do what you are looking for. 1

DieHard Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) This is the ready made profile I use by Crunch: http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php/files/file/131-dcs-blackshark/ Works in conjunction with the CH Control Manager. Fighterstick's trigger fires guns and switches gun mode off/on. Pickle button fires rockets, bombs and drop tanks. Not exactly what you requested. The SHKVAL's DCS Options/Controls controllers setup changed with DCS World; it is not done this way anymore. I downloaded and set this up, then learned how to fly the Shark. Took me awhile to figure out all the controller buttons' functions and how to use them properly. I always fly in full realism mode. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think this is the profile I am using for Flaming Cliffs 2 and 3, but not for the A-10C, P-51D, Huey, etc. : http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php/files/file/59-ch-lockon-profile-22-04-09/ The Fighterstick's trigger fires rockets or guns in the Russian aircraft. IonicRipper Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Flagrum: Thanks, I'll give it a try. Rapier-VCG-: I had the cannon selected but weapon release did not fire the cannon. I made sure the cannon was functional by pressing the space bar and that did indeed fire the cannon. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Thanks, that did it! The gun fire control now fires the rockets and, when selected, the cannon. :D Edited April 27, 2014 by IonicRipper i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flagrum Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I use sim mode, so you would have to select cannons as weapon type. C button does that. You can't map a single button to two different functions as you would need to in Sim mode. So, it is unclear to me how you archieved this ... But an other solution could be to use the controller software to make one button send two keyboard commands (like SPACE and also RALT+SPACE) to act as cannon fire and weapon release command at the same time. Then the helo would fire the weapon depending on the actual gun select setting (i.e. C pressed before or not).
ShuRugal Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 if you have a two-stage trigger (like the x-52) you can map one stage to cannon, and the other to weapons.
IonicRipper Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 I think thats what I use to do when I had an X52 i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WildBillKelsoe Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 In real shark the pilot presses the tit for rockets or raises the gun cover for cannon switch. If you got profiling software, you could try to map both commands to a single button. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. bouncerj21 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Hi All Sorry to raise an old thread but does this still work ? I have checked the file mentioned and set use_single_Trigger to True but doesn't seem to work Thanks
Sokol1_br Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) Did a test and - "use_single_trigger = true" - work in DCS 1.5.3 Single trigger fire cannon or rockets/missiles, depends on what are selected, and if ordnance trigger are folded up © for allow use cannon (I use LShift+trigger for this).
