Wolf Rider Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 What you need to try is a 'Clean Restart" ie Shut down the computer normally and restart POST (Pressing the F8 key at start up) your system in Safemode... it tends to clear things out a bit power draining your system by killing the power, takes about 30secs to fully drain the caps etc. City Hall is easier to fight, than a boys' club - an observation :P "Resort is had to ridicule only when reason is against us." - Jefferson "Give a group of potheads a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke out of, and they'll quickly turn into engineers... its simply amazing." ANGST Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 So pretty much after trying many many different things and all the versions between 1.2.8 ans 1.2.11 , I got a new joystick and now am crash free
Baal1606687932 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Hi, still same problem after loooong time, but I have two questions: 1. Is there anyone with SideWinder2 who has no problems with these crashes? 2. Is this problem on a devs' ToFix list? Baal1606687932 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Ok, I hope I nailed it. In my case the problem was that the SideWinder2 was connected to the same external active USB hub as my TrackIR: - When I did not run TrackIR software then I could go to the Control menu without any problems (repeated dozen of times: Run DCS -> enter Options -> enter Controls -> Exit DCS). - With TrackIR software running DCS crashed on ~50% of tries. This is probably caused by some power loses on USB hub ports. When I reconnected my TrackIR to different internal PC hub the problem disappeared (non-reproducible for about 20 tries). You may check if it helps in your case. I changed the Sidewinder to my powered USB hub and problem solved! No crashes at all now. Cheers Baal:D Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.5GHz. Asus-Z170-PRO MB CORSAIR H105 HYDRO CPU COOLER.
