Hello, I'm planning to build a camp/airfield. I was wondering where to start.

 

I have all the objects for buildings, walls etc. I have all the vehicles but I don't know how to lay down a runway, taxiways and how to make the airport available to take off from in mission editor. Could anyone point me in the right direction ?

I belive Airports and FARPs are hardcoded.. I could be wrong.

 

I've been trying to get my FOBs/FARPs working properly..

You can..... sort of...

 

I can import my stuff but not as FOBs / FARPs only normal buildings...

 

 

Unless ED would like to help us modders...

Well the only thing I need help with is to somehow lay down a run way and a taxiway. I could always fly to that "base". Thats my main problem.

 

I'm guessing if I imported the objects as building and not FOBs/FARPs then the collision model goes crazy ?

It doesn't go crazy it's just that the AI can't use it.

Yes.. But for me [might be just me] the only fixed wing that could use it is the A-10C and P-51.. all 3 helis can.

I just checked my visitor message thingy. A TRUE airport, (name, adf, radios, AI landing/takeoff, all that fun stuff), is not possible from what I know without the tools which are not publicly released. I believe static objects will work but there might be issues with the game engine recognizing it as something that an aircraft can land on without blowing up at a certain speed. Having a static object with refueling trucks etc so the player can rearm/refuel....not sure. It might have to be tied to a TRUE airport, but never tested it.

I couldn't get Rearm, Refuel and repair with my stuff... Only my ships by deafult can.*

The name, radios, and stuff are in a LUA or CFG file in the theater folder (dont remember which, but I'll be home in a few hours to check).

 

outside of that, I think there may or may not be separate script files for landing, parking etc.

 

collision may or may not be set via userdef in Max.

Airfield EDM is in \DCS World\Bazar\Terrain\Airfields\,

Along with SUP3 Files for Taxi Ways, Roads and Runways Etc.
