I had a pretty good game on the 104th and I wanted to replay it. It didn't worked out, all that I could see is the map, wathever I do. Than I searched on this forum and saw that I had to edit the track, so I unlocked external views. Still only the map. So I'd like to know how I could be able to AT LEAST see myself, and in a perfect world to see evrything, if possible.

Did you press PAUSE when that map screen appeared? some people miss this (check top right corner for flashing II)

If that isn't the cause try opening the track in the mission editor, goto mission options and enable the externals etc and then save.

1) You need to press "paus" when you see the map. Then you will see that the timer starts, and a couple of seconds later, the track begins.

2) Not that it matters, because according to the track you will end up in the grass next to the runway sooner or later.

Just tried it, now i'm starting the plane and I crash into grass after 5 min when I had a 1h30 flight...

Yes. It's a corrupted track. Not a lot you can do about that.

Usually the track from the server plays better, you could maybe ask the server's admin to send you that one track, enable externals and watch yourself or anyone else. There used to be an option allowing to jump into someone's cockpit, not sure if that is still available. At least, you will watch a valid ACMI.

Told you.

Tracks are always "corrupted" since the last patch

The best way to be able to see a full track is to taxi as little as possible. (take off taxi way if you must, but is not allowed on most servers)

It always goes wrong while taxi-ing.

So the more bends you had to make while taxi ing, the more likely the track will fail miserably.

I hate it very much.

One thing I've found is if you record a track on one computer and try to play it on a different computer with World but without the same modules loaded it'll play your position as if you are AI...

tracks have been a nuisance for a LONG time now. I have given up on playing then recording something, especially with external views because of this. It's mainly why I record the videos as I'm playing them. It's complete Fubar.

Ironically it was with 127 where we heard that tracks were going to provide enhanced problem solving functions where they got completely unusable for the average person to do anything with. I'm not sure if they still help the devs or not? Maybe they know something we don't.

I go through missions and think to myself... I can't WAIT to use that in a video... then go back and it turns out that my spectacular (and yeah, now you have to take my word for it) evasive maneuvers paired with ample flares and a full on BJ from lady luck herself during a knife fight with an SA18 transformed into me in orbit about 50 miles south for 2 hours.

I figured I'd take a breather from making missions since I was having so much trouble getting any concept to work through even the small patches and would try my hand at some creative videos instead.

But yeah, Ralfi... I think you might have a point. I think I need to start trying to record these things during instead of after...

Yup. Except my hard drive is filled with at least a terabite of footage every time, and I need to sort through all that mess and delete 99% of it all that turned out to be nothing spectacular.

Then you have the other issue of having a really good shot of something, but it's in this 45 gig file that is 2 and a half hours long, and you are only looking for a snippet of 30 seconds from that.

Really frustrating. So turning the recorder on and off in between landings and other times helps, except DXTORY will crash DCS when you turn off the recording sometimes. Also I have no clue what just happened, but as of last patch, DXTORY no longer records at good frames. When not recording the FPS reads what it should 80+ FPS, but as soon as the record button is on, it flips down 30 and below, where before it would stay average 60-70+ while recording at 30FPS.

Lol, no matter what I do, there is always SOMETHING.

I'm giving up on DCS... I really REALLY hope Edge does something for this, because after my final next week, I'm moving to Falcon BMS and staying there a while.

So I totally understand your pain.

You and Ranger79 both just gave up with missions, and you two were the best at it.
