DTWD Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Hello, I was looking at purchasing FC3 in the near future and now I notice it's on sale, so maybe I will pull the trigger now, but I am slightly confused with what's for sale. I can buy FC3 for $19.99 I can buy the F15C for $19.99 I can buy the Su25 for $8.99 I can buy the A10A for $8.99 But if I am reading the E-Shop correctly the F15C, the Su25 and the A10A are all included in FC3 anyway (I had the original FC and I remember them being in that). This is made all the more confusing that the F15C and FC3 are both the same price, so why would you ever buy the F15C on it's own? I know FC3 is normally more expensive so maybe it does contain everything. So can someone confirm if there is a difference between FC3 and it's planes and buying the modules individually? Cheers PS - I tried searching but I haven't got a clue what to search for to find this out. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Jive Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) I'm certain that FC3 includes the other aircraft with no differences. The current sale prices do make the F-15C an odd purchase on it's own though, I had to do a double take at that. Home Fries Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 There is absolutely no downside to getting FC3 in lieu of the standalone aircraft. FC3 is the obvious choice. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Frostie Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 F-15C: DCS Flaming Cliffs, Su25: DCS Flaming Cliffs and A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs are all included with FC3. F-15C: DCS Flaming Cliffs is a new product hence it only has a 20% discount while FC3 has been around for a while now therefore it has a 60% discount. That's the benefit of a Sales, pick and choose the best offer for you, which right now is FC3. Plus with FC3 you will also be getting the upcoming Su-27: DCS Flaming Cliffs when it is released. Tracer1 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Hey guys, can I add a question on here? I thought I read before that in order for FC3 o work you had to buy the original as well, is that still true? Or can I buy FC3, install it and the aircraft will all run with only FC3 installed? Thanks Tracer

Or can I buy FC3, install it and the aircraft will all run with only FC3 installed? Thanks Tracer Yeah, that changed. I don't have LockOn and bought DCS FC3 the other day and it works fine :) Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen
Juuba Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Yeah, all the said planes are included in the FC3. Also, you don't need the previous versions of LockOn/FC any more. Sometimes I Amaze even Myself!
Tracer1 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Yeah, all the said planes are included in the FC3. Also, you don't need the previous versions of LockOn/FC any more. Thanks for the info guys, Lock On that was the name I was looking for : ). I think I'll go ahead and purchase FC3 then, I like where DCS is going and want to support them to do more. I just wasn't going to buy it if I had to buy an older version of a flightsim. Thanks again Tracer
DTWD Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Tracer I had to check that as well, I had the original FC, skipped FC2 and I ended up with FC3 the other day. I honestly can't even remember where my lock on disc is. Once you installed the original FC you never had to use the lock on disc again and I have moved house several times since then :) Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
