Using one of the hardpoints?

There are 2 methods. One is using a hardpoint, and the other using a build in sistem, but if you use this one you cant use JATO

As we have very nice runways in the sim, I think I will get the in built method. If Leatherneck simulated it of course.

I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

So to anyone playing the game, what are your impressions for each of the A2A missiles so far? I've mostly seen the R-3S get used in videos, which is the weakest IR missile to my knowledge.

What is the R-55 like? I can't really find anything on it. Is that SARH?

I also noticed Bluedrake had twin R-60 launchers for both the inner and outer pylons. Is this a mistake? Because I've never heard of that before, I thought it could only mount twin launchers on outer pylons. I guess this means you could bring 8 R-60's to the party? That's a decent amount of firepower.

Weird, cause when I google "R-55 missile" I get plenty of results right there on the first page...

And why would a modern fighter get slow with a fishbed? And even then, you fly them as slow or slower with good control.

So yes, unless.

No, the point of having radar guidance on R-3R is not the all-aspect ability. The (real) manual describes that it is to be used on propeller driven aircraft that have a much smaller IR signature and would be hard for the R-3S to lock on.

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

Does every odd thread need to reiterate the F-15 versus MiG-21 argument? Yes, the MiG can win, but only highly unlikely and stupidly lopsided circumstances.

Okay, so I'd use it against helicopters, warbirds, and turboprops? Good to know.

Is the R-3R the best SARH available or is there something better?

Yes.

Personally would not bother, though. With it's engagement parameters you'll be hard-pressed to successfully engage anything moving relatively fast or manoeuvrable.

Your best bet if you going hunting is either 8 R-60's or my personal favourite, 4 x R-60's and 2 x Gunpods: Can do a mighty fine-Hog-Roast with that :D
