streakeagle Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Pilot's assessment of F-86, he preferred slats over unslatted: http://sabre-pilots.org/classics/v21gunnery.htm [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Robo. Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Not all 6-3 Sabres were F-35s, some were F-25s. IIIRC later Sabres aka F-86F-40s and Canadair MK6s got the slatted wings again. Provided better low speed handling.:D Yes, yes yes  I really just wanted to reply to this: Thanks for the clear explanation. So we're getting a versions that didn't saw combat during the Korean war as all Sabres in Korea used the slats. Is that right? Having said that, I hope they will do a soft winged Sabre in the future, too. :pilotfly: I really can't wait to fly this plane. I was giving my credit card to the guy at Duxford but he wouldn't take it.
