BeachAV8R
I had the opportunity (finally) to spend some time with the DCS F-15C module with the Professional Flight Model. Wow..what fun to fly this beast now! No more scripted landings and everything feels so dynamic. Lots of fun.. Can't wait for the PFM Su-27.. BeachAV8R
:) It's all in the angles. Well, actually, that's only partially true. DCS World is quite beautiful and the sim has some of the best lighting in any sim out there. My settings aren't really set all that high. There are some sliders that could be further right..and for some reason I don't have tree shadows on (can't remember if that was because of performance hit..?) The only thing I've done to the shots are cropped them and then added that slight dark vignette to make them look camera-ish.. BeachAV8R

kk0425
Wow. You have 1024 every frame for your cockpit displays resolution? Doesn't that kill your FPS?

Katmandu
Ahhh so the pics are edited...Ok thx. I was wondering about that because I have things maxed out and I dont get that The are not "edited"! Cropped means he cut away boring part of pictures, vignette means he darkened corners .
BeachAV8R
They are edited, but the only thing I've done to them is crop out the blank space and added a slight vignette to the edges (that dark stuff)..all the rest is stock DCS. As a comparison - here is the original shot versus the posted shot. Cropping brings the focus onto the subject and the vignette implies sort of a real camera. Color, saturation, all that are unchanged from in game.. Original: Cropped and vignetted: BeachAV8R
BeachAV8R
Wow. You have 1024 every frame for your cockpit displays resolution? Doesn't that kill your FPS? No, 1024 seems to work out fine. I'll see what FRAPS is saying my FPS is in the instant action mission - BRB OK...with those graphics settings above, I'm getting solid 33FPS in the cockpit, about 38FPS in external views in the F-15C instant action mission. Dropping down to low altitude in that mission I was getting 25 FPS no matter whether tree shadows were on or off. Go figure. kk0425
Do you have mirrors on? What about in the A-10? And the most important question. What kind of hardware do you have? I'm afraid to do that even with a 780 GTX.
