Almost certainly, the ti is significantly faster than even the regular 780.

I'm considering waiting for the 880, but I'm not sure if Nvidia will drop the price of a 780 Ti straight away. Does anyone know if the 790 is still going to be released because I haven't heard anything about it.

God only knows how current DCS engine will utilize 780Ti compared to 680. After all, It's not a very well optimized and GPU-dependant game is it? And with EDGE coming up late this year (yeah, I know - PROBABLY, but this time looks like they're really gonna make it) even God doesn't know how these fast Nvidias will perform in DX11 mode :D. If I were You, I would wait a couple of months. If money is not a factor for You, the EDGE should be, but that's my opinion.

Agreed, assuming DCS is your primary reason for wanting to upgrade.
