aLmAnZo Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Hi! I've been trying to research this on my own, but so far I haven't been able to get clear answers. I am aware that DCS has support for force feedback in the software and thus I would very much love to get my hands on one. But to my suprise (remembering how awesome everyone thought the Microsoft Force feedback sticks was back in the days) it seems like nobody is making force feedback sticks to day. Is my observations and research correct, or are there still new sticks on the marked with proper force feedback available for purchase? I do know that it's possible to get second hand Microsoft ones, but they do lack a couple of buttons for my taste.
aeliusg Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Nothing on the market currently. You can get a used G940 and get plenty of buttons or you can get a FFB2 and mod it.
Deadman Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 BFF has some DYI control systems available I don't think he is currently supporting DCS though. http://bffsimulation.com/BFF-FFB-System.php https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
KLR Rico Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I love the feel and trim behavior of a FFB stick, I couldn't go back to a spring stick... I think the MSFFB2 has the best mechanics, but as mentioned, the buttons are lacking. My solution was to hack together the MSFFB2 with a saitek X52. Now I have all the buttons I need with the excellent feedback of the MS stick. :) i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
Abburo Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 BFF does not support DCS. Is only for FSX and X-Plane. MS FFB Sidewinder is worthing, the buttons can be easily replaced. You can find here how i moved the 4 base buttons in different positions: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2144740#post2144740 G940 needs modifications due to low quality of wiring and potentiometers on throttle and pedals. Black Fat Mamba is posibly to have next year an FF joystick. Meanwhile, there are some open source softwares that can be used by somebody with enough programming skills to enable also DirectX FF on them. The newest one is the Heampstik which recently opea a thred in this forum. Romanian Community for DCS World HW Specs: AMD 7900X, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, HOTAS Virpil, MFG, CLS-E, custom
Random Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 I contacted BFF and he said that he is considering trying to make his software compatible with DCS. Several months before he will be able to even take a look though :(
