MajSmack Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Hey folks , Using the Saitek profiler software, I have been getting blue screens Intermittently , when activating a profile after making changes. Last time, it blew away (corrupted) my profile . I have been using the "Delete unused commands" function on the profiles.. On the BSOD, I see either "Saitek.sys" or just some hex values. Of course I opened a ticket with Saitek, but wanted to see if anyone else is seeing this. On a side note, If I could program the throttle thumb wheels in DCS, is would forgo the Saitek software all together.
Abburo Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Try find an powered USB hub and use it as a midleware between your computer and Saitek. Romanian Community for DCS World HW Specs: AMD 7900X, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, HOTAS Virpil, MFG, CLS-E, custom
MajSmack Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Thanks, I'll give that a try and report back :)
HiJack Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 USB2 port is also best for this kind of controller.
MajSmack Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Okay... got powered (2.0) USB hub. No more blue sceens.. but now after about 5 or so minutes of play time.. either the throttle or stick stops responding
upupandaway Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 As long as you have the Saitek-drivers installed, you can program the thumb wheels from within DCS. This works for all controls on the throttle except the thumb mouse button, but I find that generally imposible to use anyway. Haven´t had any issues with the X-55 so far and I´m not using the software... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
MajSmack Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Hmmm... I'm looking under options / controllers and for the SU25T I'm not seeing any of the wheels or rotaries for the throttle, as assignable. Nothing is picked up when I move them either.
upupandaway Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Ok, have you downloaded the drivers (not programming software) from the Saitek product page? You must have, right? I only installed the drivers and never the software and it works like a charm. All axis and buttons are selectable from a drop down menu or will be picked up automatically if operated. Perhaps it doesn´t work as long as the software is running in the background and you try to assign them from within DCS... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
HiJack Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 In earlier versions of the saitek software there have been a limit to the command names that gives you an error like this. Check your assigned commands that they are under 30 chars. Or better! Try with a blank (or small) profile and see if it stops then!
MajSmack Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Thanks for the tips guys. So far by only activating the throttle profile and using the stick settings directly in DCS is working okay.
