uboats Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Yeah I mean that. And another one, in a lot of videos I saw a apu "switch" . I thought the 21 hasn't one? It starts only with battery or external power. To start 21's engine, you need to turn on APU switch then press the 'engine start' button (battery, DC gen switch also need to be turned on.) Philipp2 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 But there's no apu in the real plane. So maybe it's only the main switch for the starter ?
uboats Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 But there's no apu in the real plane. So maybe it's only the main switch for the starter ? It could be, I just learnt it from preview video that they turned on the APU switch before start the engine. Maybe the manual will tell everything. Eldur Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I think Bunyap said in one of his Test Flight videos that it isn't an actual APU but rather something that is needed to start up the engine and there's no better translation for it.
NoJoe Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Maybe it's something like the JFS (Jet Fuel Starter) in the F-16 and others? Like a mini-APU, but only for starting the engines? Alternately "APU" could be "Auxiliary Power Unicorn" or something, but that's probably less likely. :D Either way, I'm really looking forward to diving into this plane. Lots to learn!
Philipp2 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Yes so much plane systems..let's see who's the first in using all the pressure air :D
Rogue Trooper Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 My God if this is where DCS is going then when do we get a dynamic campaign that will utilize the accumulative stresses properly. The stress on aircrafts cannot be realized without the long term stresses that a prolonged war creates. HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. Eldur Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 "Auxiliary Power Unicorn" would be the name for the whole thing :D That nose cone is too obvious :)
Philipp2 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 The nose cone is a good thing. Works with speed , elevator movement and some more things.
