Flagrum Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I am not an artist. End of story? Well, my creativity lays rather in other fields than graphics editing. But I want to give it a try, perhaps start to modify existing skins? Or perhaps better starting off with the official templates? I downloaded the Ka-50 template, but what then? I have Gimp installed, so I can open the .PSD files. While I don't really know what I am doing, with a lot of trial and error I eventually will be able to modify the layers as I imagine them. But then I am stuck. What now? I can work myself around the description.lua, but how do I get my work in the PSD file correctly into the respective DDS files?
joey45 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 There's a DDS plugin you need to have. https://code.google.com/p/gimp-dds/ The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. dpatt711 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Here's a tip, you don't actually have to restart the game to test new skins. Go to mission editor, select the craft, select the skin you are testing, and load up into the game. Just alt-tab, replace the files, alt tab back in (Only works if you were in true fullscreen, as it stops the rendering)

EddieJames Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Could someone tell me how to apply a skin? I click on the airplane in mission editor and the tab that has the skins is blacked out. It won't let me choose it. Asus Rampage V X99 | Win 7 x64 | i7 5930 @ 3.5 GHz | 32GB RAM | Nvidia GTX780ti | Logitech G940 | Oculus Rift DK2
