Beagle One Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Servers are generally locked at the moment to limit the number of players since 1.5 multiplayer is unstable with many servers experiencing memory leakage and regularly crashing. Also many server owners have become tired of trolls. Onve the multiplayer issues in 1.5 have been sorted, I am sure we will see more servers increasing their max number of players and lifting the passwords.Brings up the questions why so many people migrate to an unstable version of the game

winchesterdelta1 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Brings up the questions why so many people migrate to an unstable version of the game Because for some people including me 1.5 can not be unseen. And it's only unstable in multiplayer. Single player works perfect like always. To bad for me i only play Multi. I still have a little hope that Multiplayer in DCS 2.0 Will see the same dramatic performance gain as the new EDGE. I and many others would be over the top happy. But we might have to wait for dedicated servers. Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
codefox Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 All I see most of the time is empty servers Join it and others will come after you after a while. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HeadHunter52 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Join it and others will come after you after a while. :) Pretty much. Be the odd duck that DOESN'T cruise along saying, "No one there, I'll stay away." If you join up, someone will say, "Hey, there's a diffdrent duck, I'll goo take a look-see." And then there were three..... ..... until the MP server crashed from memory leak. Johnny Dioxin Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Well, I went on today and found many unpassworded servers - in fact there were more without than with. Mine is public, but if I get problems it'll get a password. Why should I put up with 'griefers'? Nearly all the servers say whose server it is - so go and ask the owners if you see one you like, and it has a password. Seems logical to me. Rivvern Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Running my server without password as often as I can. But sometime we need to turn on password protection to prevent people from ruining our events. Feel free to join master arms server when it's public. Redacuragsr Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I don't know but I enjoy meeting random people on my server when I'm hosting, most people I met there were pretty cool.
Johnny Dioxin Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Last night, when I sparked up multiplayer there were 46 servers on and only 16 were pw protected. Might have been quite a few with no players, but when I was looking around public servers with some flight-buddies a few months back, we used to look for empty servers, because then we wouldn't be joining half way through an op or finding all the targets already destroyed, etc. Once we joined an empty server, there were nearly always a few other people joining shortly afterwards. If everyone avoids empty servers, they will always be empty! Sometimes you have to take the first step.
