openfalcon68 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 You see in the above video, the Mig-21s touch down on the mains and roll out with the nose wheel in the air for quite some time. Not able to do this in the LN MiG-21bis. What am I not doing to achieve whats in the video. Thanks for any help, suggestions and pointers. Manish
Mrgud Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I did it few times so it can be done. Don't hit the runway too fast, and too hard. And, after touchdown, you need to pull the stick towards yourself. I think the main factor is vertical speed.
Corrigan Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I've never been able to do it either (and I can land pretty smoothly): I either end up taking off again or not keeping the nose up. Seems like a very fine line. Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
zaelu Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I think the plane still needs some of its inertia. I don't think I can do it either and I messed up just one landing. Also I almost can't stall the plane. I am sure that is still wip/beta and some parts still needs to come into place. Flamin_Squirrel Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 It's perfectly doable, see attached. With the skinny delta wing, you have to flare early and more than you think you need to, compared to other aeroplanes. Don't chop the power either.landing.trk
bkthunder Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I can do it every time now, just takes a bit of practice. The main thing is land as smoothly as you can and pull the stick all the way back when you touch down.
