Hello Gents,

The past 2 years I spent flying great missions in coop multiplayer and I had a great time. So I thought it was high time to contribute to the amount of missions availible.

After a while I came up with Resque Dawn. This mission is set in the Vietnam war time period where you take on the role of A-1 Skyraider pilots.

But in the absence of Skyraiders the A-10C will do.

****************************************************

You take on the role of A-1 pilots flying standby CAS close to the border.

When a friendly F-4 gets shot down behind enemy lines, you are sent there to keep the pilot safe till the resque helo arrives.

You have to pay attention, otherwise the incoming enemy soldiers will overrun and capture thim.

When this task is complete you will called for a secondary tasking.

******************************************************************

In this mission I advise to use the given loadout, or similar. I did not restrict the loadout possibilities, but for best immersion avoid using guided bombs/missiles and TGP's.

You will go up against manually aimed AAA, infantry and the occasional armoured car.

Furthermore, unless you go out of bounds you won't have to worry about SAM's.

This is a 4 player coop mission.

There are 4x A-10C aircraft availible.

I have 2x KA-50's standing by and availible, but they are not yet implemented in the triggers. If people do want this I can add that in in the future.

Because of the secondary tasking 2 somewhat skilled A-10 pilots could do the mission in one run.

If you are conservative with your ammo one plane could do it too, but you might have to do a return trip for ammo.

On closing note: I wanted to do something different in a mission. Here you are more flying with your eyes outside of the cockpit instead of flying about at 15000+ feet.

I hope you enjoy flying this mission as much as I enjoyed building it.

I would like to thank my squadmates from the Rag Tag Air Corps for giving me helpfull feedback and information while creating this mission.

Please provide me with any feedback you have. This is my first serious try at a mission and I would like to improve.

Good Luck,

Dutchy93 A.K.A Ghostrider

Edit: In the mission there is one A-10A availible. DO NOT USE THIS ONE.

This plane is just for testing purposes. I used this one to trigger everything and check if everything worked.

Forgot to take it out though. Will do this when I have more time.

You need to specify which flyable aircrafts there are and how many. SP/MP?

If people dont know what slots there are they will not bother to download it i think.

Im looking for good missions. Havent tried this yet but keep up the good work!

Wonderful mission. I tried it without Tgp: no way. Than I put Tgp on and all went ok. Enyoied a lot. My best compliments; looking forward for the next one.

I tried it shortly in SP today, not knowing it was a MP-Mission, and I liked it, that radio chatter was pretty cool. Unforunately AAA got me pretty fast and I didn´t have time to try again.

Thanks for telling me. Such an obvious thing went just by. I edited the discription with the above mentioned parts.

Gibo: I am glad you enjoyed it! But what went wrong with the no TGP run? Were the red-smoke markers missing? Thanks for trying the mission!

No the red smoke markers were ok; the mission was too difficult to me witout Tgp (i do not have track ir) so Iwent with Tgp on. I have played as Sp.

it would have been better if you had placed some SAR helo slots uh-1/mi-8 though

FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15EF-4| Tornado

Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60

MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5

Had thought about it but that would mean that a SAR helo MUST be availible during the mission.

One of these days I'll make a resque UH-1 availible if this is wanted. But the sole purpose of the helo in this case is to grab the pilot and get out. not much else to do. And helo's won't be able to reach the secondary tasking without a very long flight.

but again; if people want it I can make it flyable

Thanks for the mission! Four of us flew it online tonight, using just the dumb ordnance as fragged. Most enjoyable. Liked the navigation directions based on box designations. The first task went well, though the helicopters seemed to hang around for an inordinate time after the "We've picked him up and are out of here" call, before leaving.

The second task went well also (though my team-mates kept stealing the kills on the targets the JTAC gave me). However, after the JTAC gave us the all clear, nothing else happened - we were left a bit unsure whether we were supposed to RTB, or wait for new tasking (we had enough ordnance left for probably one more task, since one fellow had to fetch a new aircraft from base :-). In the end we just headed home and landed.

A nicely done mission. Not too over-the-top, so the less experienced pilots were able to have fun and be effective. Challenging enough for the more experienced pilots to have some fun low-level strafing and dodging AAA!

I'm glad to see that you had a good time! The experience you described was what I was going for, challenging but not too hard.

And thankyou for bringing up these issues.

The helo path should be an easy fix, but I wonder what went wrong at the end of the second tasking.

You should've gotten a message telling you to RTB, followed by a nice tune.

Guess I'll have to dive into that one.

I shall adress these issues asap.
