fastfreddie Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I had this occur on a mission on the DoW server today and wanted to know if there is a solution for it. It doesn't occur very often but when I fired my weapons on the Dora the whole screen would flash brightly to where you couldn't see anything at all. I've had it occur in the past on another computer system and have heard of others having it. 5930k gtx980 current drivers win 8.1
sobek Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Do you have a track? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
ARM505 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I haven't had it happen with the Dora, but one easily repeatable test for me is firing using the ZSU23. I think it's associated with the HDR, as the guns fire (when you fire the ZSU you're looking between all the barrels, in the aimed view if I remember correctly, which means you're basically surrounded by muzzle flash) - the screen goes darker and darker as your 'eyes' supposedly adjust to the brightness. Is this what you're referring to?

Is this what you're referring to? This was the first time I've had it with the Dora but I've had it on another computer with the Mustang. It is definitely muzzle flash related except that the windows went brighter instead of darker. I believe someone told me before that it was related to the sun or clouds but others had heard about it last time. No track since I was online but next time it pops up I'll record it.
Pikey Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I had this once when I was low on memory, the smoke particles were replaced with black nothing. Check this, it might be a texture memory issue. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
fastfreddie Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 I had this once when I was low on memory, the smoke particles were replaced with black nothing. Check this, it might be a texture memory issue. I've got 16gb of ddr4 ram so I doubt that it was a memory problem.
outlawal2 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I've got 16gb of ddr4 ram so I doubt that it was a memory problem. If this was the issue it wouldn't be RAM it would be VIDEO memory.. How much video ram do you have and how many screens and what res etc.. ? "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Narushima Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Could be a problem with the new Nvidia drivers. Try an older driver and see if it helps. FW 190 Dora performance charts: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128354
fastfreddie Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Well this keeps popping up every now and then in certain conditions. This time there was 3 of us experiencing the same problems on the same mission last night. 4GB of video ram on a single display running at 1080p so doubt that is the problem. I've seen this on two separate systems one using Win 7 with an ATI card and the other on Win8.1 with an Nvdia card so I doubt it is a driver issue(multiple drivers). It only occurs in certain lighting conditions usually with the sun in overcast/clouds or on early morning/late evening conditions. The bug can be worse depending on the light level and other conditions. Here is a video and at the end in the chat someone else is complaining about it. http://youtu.be/4vhISG9SdMo

otto Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) I had the same issue. On a dusk DOW mission. While flying the D9 bright light ,reflecting of the gun smoke blinded the crap out of me. I have a gtx 770 with 344.48 drivers I can't upload the .trk file for some reason. Edited November 22, 2014 by otto
fastfreddie Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Yep exactly the same problem Otto but I've also had it on an Ati card with another machine. Light reflecting off smoke would be a very good description and nothing worse than losing a Mustang in your sights. Hopefully Edge will sort this out one day or they will look into this.
iFoxRomeo Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 It is not a Dora exclusive feature. The A-10 suffers form this and the Sabre partially too. Every aircraft that has it´s guns muzzles in front of or beside the pilot will have this problem. Fox Spoiler PC Specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, 3080ti, 64GB RAM, Oculus Quest 3
Buzpilot Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 It's kind of a silly feature, because the eyes towards the sunlight, will not get that much blended as they already have adjusted to light. i5 4670 - Sabertooth Z87- GTX Titan - Dell U3011 30" - 2x8GB RAM 1800 - Samsung 840 EVO 512GB SSD - Warthog HOTAS - CH Pro pedals - TrackIR5 - Win7 64bit EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
