That's right but, I'd like to assign it to the pedal...

This is same in Ka-50, but we can assign toe brakes...

If there is no Axis for braking on that plane (some don't have it) then you need to use your pedal`s software to set it . also you wont get differential braking of course

It is a 2 part process:

1. Map toe brake through CH Control Manager to a button.

2. Map button to wheel brake in DCS.

You have to use the CH Control Manager software (and the Control Manager has to be running while you are in DCS). You may need to look for help on the CH forum on how to map the brake pedal axis to a button.

I am 99% certain this can be done. I used to have a CH HOTAS setup, although I haven't had it for about 5 years, so I am fuzzy on the details.

There is no brake axis for the MI-8. Therefore, you cannot assign the toe brakes, because they are seen by DCS as an axis.

What you need to do, make the toe brake be seen by DCS as a button.

You will have to use the CH control manager to accomplish this. If you uncheck DX mode, it will allow you to configure any given axis as key presses, instead of a joystick axis.

Once you've setup the CH control manager properly, you'll be able to assign the MI-8's brakes to your ProPedals toe brakes.

I just played with the manager a bit to confirm that it's possible, but I didn't work out exactly the correct steps. You'll have to experiment.

Practice makes perfect.

The Mi-8 appears to use the standard Russian braking system of a lever on the flight/cyclic stick. This lever does both total braking and differential braking (by slaving to rudder pedals). I don't know if the real Mi-8 has differential brakes or not, but it definitely has a braking axis in the form of that lever on the stick. It is not an on/off button. Hell, you can even see it as a lever very clearly in our Mi-8 cockpit. I don't know why it wasn't put in as an axis.

It does not. It should, however, be an axis...not sure why it's not.

I think it is just a beta thing.:)

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

See Page 75 or thereabouts, page 93 specifically for the Mi-8's situation.

You can take a look at his and figure out how he did it. I use this profile since BS1.
