Also in the Graphics Options you can uncheck the FULL SCREEN option and DCS will run in windowed mode.

AFAIK, you get better frame rates in full screen (by a small margin), but it has been a long time since I tested it (I have to run windowed for some Helios profiles).

Windowed:

+Allows use of Helios and other applications.

+Allows Alt-Tabing with minimal Impact/Crashes.

-Small, barely measureable impact on FPS due to rendering the desktop

-Windows mode does not support multiple GPUs (technically niether does DCS at the moment)

 

Fullscreen:

+Gives exclusive access to the gpu pipeline.

+Allows Multiple GPUs

-Removes ability to use external applications (ie Helios).

-Alt Tabbing frequently crashes.

I can't use full screen with DK2 because the mouse won't show.

Seeing how the Aero UI Only uses a small amount of GPU Acceleration and DCS Never really Taps a full 100% of the GPU, it's not a big deal. like maybe 1-3% which is 1-3 FPS at 100 FPS,

 

Like I said, Depending on Driver settings, You wont notice a difference between Windowed and Full Screen until DX11/Multi-GPUs.
