audax Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) My first try at recording. A dogfight against an AI MiG-21bis and a landing in Nalchik after I shoot him down. Watch it in Google Chrome to see the full 60fps. Edit: fixed the video link... Edited November 2, 2014 by audax 2

gavagai Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 That is pretty glorious in 60fps! Thanks for sharing. Can I give some polite advice that might help you kill the AI more quickly? I think a right hand turn would be better at the initial merge. Turn toward the bandit, not away from him. Also, the nose-low maneuver (almost a split-s) at 0:55 wastes a lot of potential energy. That is why you stall out below him at 1:24. I am a complete noob at BFM, since the MiG-21 is the first jet I've ever flown, except for a few weeks in the Falcon BMS (where I didn't do any BFM training) and always happy about any advice I can get.

Airway Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Great! So you say, it does look in 60 fps... Hm, christmas has to bring new hardware for me then. Thanks for this liquid looking upload! +Reputation
audax Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 One fight against an F-4 II with Nvidia DSR activated. Only mostly 60fps, DSR is really a resource hog. 37G8Jlbn3GI
siipperi Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 nice but fps isnt constantly even close to 60.
audax Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Indeed, DSR was a bit too much. The other videos are again without DSR. osUgCWRkPiQ Edited November 3, 2014 by audax
Bucic Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 What do you use for recording? F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
audax Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 I use Nvidia Shadowplay at maximum quality which always records the last 20 minutes of gameplay on my SSD which I can then save to my HDD. So every time something interesting happens I can just hit alt+F10 and save the last minutes :) It also doesn't cost many fps, I don't recognize any performance impact.

The vids are a pleasure to watch! I see. Similar feature is available for AMD graphics only for GCN 1.1 graphics, AFAIK. BTW, a similar effect of smoothness can be achieved by tweaking smoothing/motion blur settings in your codec of choice.
