Hey guy's have a question about the IR missiles, I can't seem to get them to work, I setup a custom mission with the IR missiles loaded out, I can get .4 away from the target but I don't seem to get any sort of tone indicating a lock like I get with the SARH missiles, so I figure I must be doing something wrong, but I have no idea what it is, I've tried to do the tutorial a few times but mine seems to be buggy, once we're all setup to fire the missiles the controller says that a target will fly in front of me, nothing has ever shown up, I click over to the external view and there aren't any jets anywhere to be seen. Assistance would be most graciously appreciated!

The tone indicator and the lock-lights are currently not working (sufu). You can notice an IR-lock by observing the reticle which then sticks to the IR-source and follows.

Of course you must set all instruments correctly - all arming switches (right panel), A2A master mode, IR instead of SARH missile selector, weapon selector to the correct pylon in the IR-section, ASP Mode Missile instead of gyro, target size correctly (~10), ASP Mode Automatic

and if you want you can also use the radar in fixed beam mode.

Then you should see the reticle sticking on the enemy.

Hey, the tone indicator works, at least for R3S missiles used in training missions. No idea about newer stuff like R60s. Lock lights, however, are indeed not functional yet.

Tone works just fine for me using R-60's, R-13's and R-3S's. It's pretty simple really, just put the target into the pipper, select a missile hardpoint with IR missiles, set to air to air mode, set to IR guidance and launch once you have tone. I guess that actually sounds a little complicated when you read it, but I find it straight forwards even if a bit labor intensive. Other than the firing part, it doesn't make any difference what order you do this in.
