baltic_dragon Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Hey, Not sure if this is the correct forum. I wanted to host a server, but my router (FritzBox LAN) is by default blocking any incoming connections. In the options that can be changed by enabling port forwarding, but there I am a bit confused with quite a few options available. The questions are: 1) I enable port forwarding for other applications 2) Which protocol should I choose: TCP, UDP, ESP, GRE? 3) Then option FROM PORT -> TO PORT (any particular values? 10308)? 4) To computer: so I choose the one I am using to play, simple :) 5) To IP Address: the address of my PC I am playing on (can't change it) 6) to port: here I can again define the number (10308 here?) Also, when setting up a mission if I want someone to connect through IP, I give him my IP from point 5 + port number 10308, right? Hope someone will be able to help me with that! golani79 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 You need port 10308 on TCP and UDP - not sure about the others as I don´t have them in my router. If you correctly set up the port forwarding your server should be visible in the server browser and available to join - so no need to connect via ip. Here is what it looks like on my router: 1 >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<

The only question I have now is do I have to set up the "through" port - I have from 10308, and in the end to 10308, but there is also "through" one - does it make any difference which one that is? Also, I cannot set both protocols at once, so I created two separate ones for DCS, one for TCP and one for UDP. I will see if it works. For more information, please visit my website. BitMaster Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Just in case someone who has a firewall with capabilities beyond that of standard Home Routers or if you run a DCS Server in a DataCentre with explicit network rules: The complete list is either here, and explained a bit: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120856&highlight=gateprotect or in short: ports 80-tcp http, 443-tcp https, 5222-tcp xmpp and 10308-tcp+udp game For a standard NAT based firewall like Fritz!Box, Linksys, Netgear etc. home routers you only need to allow the INCOMING ports to be allowed to pass traffic through to the INTERNAL IP of your DCS server in your LAN. The ports 80,443,5222 only need to be allowed to pass OUTBOUND if you have a firewall based on BLOCK-ALL-BUT-WHITELIST policy. Fritz!Box 's and alikes do not block any outgoing traffic other than Netbios and SMB protocol ( File Sharing protocols ) for clueless endusers security. Set the starting port to 10308 and end port too. You could, if it would make sense, say the endpoint is 12000, then all ports in that range would be port forwarded. For DCS you need to set start and and port the same value or may leave the end port value blank, whatever the GUI accepts. You need to define 2 rules in FB, 1 for tcp and 1 for up, their names must not be the same, call them DCS_tcp and DCS_up, thats how my FB looks like ;) Bit Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

I dont understand any of this stuff. if in protocol dropdown menu you can only set TCP or UDP, you need to add two separate rules. So call one DCS TCP, and the other DCS UDP. Port range you have to set start and stop, so basically are the same, so default 10308-10308, and leave the same in translate to 10308 - 10308 FlighRIG => CPU: RyZen 5900x | RAM: 64GB Corsair 3000Mhz | GPU: nVIDIA RTX 4090 FE | OS Storage: SSD NVMe Samsung 850 Pro 512GB, DCS Storage: SSD NVMe Sabrent 1TB | Device: Multipurpose-UFC, VirPil T-50, TM WARTHOG Throttle, TrackHat, MFD Cougar with screen. Not sure u are in the correct section of your modem/router, can you make a screen of the menu also?
