kontiuka Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 This happens very often on take-off. I'll attempt to raise the gear and either just the nose gear raises or the nose and just one of the main gears will raise. I usually have to extend and retract the gear again to stow it all properly. SimFreak Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 What airspeed are you trying to retract gear?
Kenan Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 The gear won't retract at 740 km/h? Shame on them! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . Croatian radio chat for DCS World
kontiuka Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 The gear won't retract at 740 km/h? Shame on them!Although I guess I was exceeding max retraction speed, I wasn't waiting until I was at 740 km/h. Maybe 400.
Beagle One Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Although I guess I was exceeding max retraction speed, I wasn't waiting until I was at 740 km/h. Maybe 400.Additionally, the F-15C for DCS does not know that problem nd youbcant damage the F-15C gear with aisspeed enough to not beeing able to retract...which is EVEN stranger anyway since it retracts FORWARD.
BitMaster Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Yep, the gear is touchy in all aspects: This is what I do to safe it's life: Lift-Off, cut burners, retract, engage burners again. Almost any other way is close to ruin your gear as I found out, might be a bit too touchy or the Su accelerates way too fast for it's gear mechanism to work in time, which could well be real. Agg Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Yes, taking off and climbing in burner is'nt really possible at the moment, if you want to raise your gear that is :P
Beagle One Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I have recently seen a lot of videosof Su-27 and Su-30 taking off and climbing without the use of Afterburner. Since the engines have a lot of dry thrust and the AB if very thirsty that makes sense now, but nervertheless, even the su-25 in game has a less capricious under carriage and that oen on the F-15 can only be damaged by actions that must be accounted as a crash in RL.
ED Team Yo-Yo Posted November 10, 2014 ED Team Posted November 10, 2014 Gear up at 10-15 m altitude as the doctor directed - it will be ok either with AB or without. Fox One Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Flight manual for real aircraft says very clearly that maximum speed for extension, retraction and flight with lowered gear is 500 Km/h. If the manufacturer says so, I would expect when flying horizontally at 1G with 460 Km/h the gear would retract. Currently it does not. My DCS videos

Currently it does not.Additionally such manual figures always contain some safety range multiplyer, at least 15% until something harmfull really occurs. See the F-15 again...no damage too extended gear even at 700km/h...DCS really needs more consistency in that regard beetween the different aircraft.
GGTharos Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 You realize the F-15 is built by someone else. Quite simply the damage model for it is not complete. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Beagle One Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) You realize the F-15 is built by someone else. Quite simply the damage model for it is not complete.Maybe it's build by someone else but it still lives in the same DCS world., hece the call fpr more consistency in that DCS world. GGTharos Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Consistency is always good, I agree, and I'm sure these things will be corrected in time. Your exaggeration on other hand is not helpful at all. Maybe it's build by someone else but it still lives in the same DCS world., hece the call fpr more consistency in that DCS world. Agg Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Nah it possible, you just have to be fast with it:) Fast and do a vertical climb ;)
