mytai01 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I believe the turkey feathers open too much in full AB. Can anyone find a picture of an Su-27 with the turkey feathers fully open and in AB? Good luck with that! Instead of a video, lets find actual nozzle numbers otherwise it would impossible to tell. One problem that we have on that is the SU-27 does not have a nozzle position gauge so it would be very difficult to know the nozzle diameter/movement in DCS or in the RL engine. Another challenge , if the AL-31 behave like other engine, is that the nozzle would open or close depending on many factors so it will never or should never be a specific number. For example, we can't say it opens at X% at this throttle setting. We could say it should not be more that "Y" and/or less than "Z". But again without a throttle position gauge, how can we judge beside opinions? What is turkey feathers? You mean nozzles? Normally is the way the outside of the convergent/divergent nozzle is called. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
Bob-68 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 What's next, a decal that's 00.001 of a mm off centre?? Dude? a life, seriously... go get one!

mytai01 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 What's next, a decal that's 00.001 of a mm off centre?? Dude? a life, seriously... go get one! This is supposed to be an effort at accuracy, isn't it? It has been noticeable to me for years and I'm pointing it out. How much trouble would it be to correct? I do have a life...better than most!
