Kula66 Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 I hope the chopper is a great success ... But I do hope ED does get around to fixing A2A sometime soon ... :)

Bublik Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Bublik, please don't take this question the wrong way, but are you from ED? What info do you base your statement on? So far I get the impression that for A2A types ... BS may well contain a big fat zero :( One of the moderators said that on the Russian part of the forums. It is not official, but I think it really is the way things are going to be :( WR=210=Vladimir http://lockon-vpg.nm.ru http://whiteravens.nm.ru http://white-ravens.com
SuperKungFu Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I think the reason a lot of people (including me) are trying to get our voices heard for Black Shark because that's the end for the lock on series, or at least its "planned" to be the last release, maybe we will get a couple patches or two. Since Tank Killers was said not to be an addon for Lock On, it will be a while until fast movers gets their upgrades. That is why we put a great deal of effort to "beg" them to put some of these features in for the next release. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MonnieRock Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 No problem, I don't mean to derade your opinion at all. Only pointing out that the customer "move" has gotten a little overused IMHO. To be perfectly blunt, we're all customers, we all paid for Lock On, and we all GOT Lock On. Anything past that is support the company does not owe us. But anyway, my own opinion is that ED should do everything they can to make this chopper as good as it can be, seeing as we will be asked to pay for it and all. Everything else is a bonus. If they can address certain air to air features, that's great. But if not, that's what the next project is for. As they say, a time and place for everything in space... I understand the path ED is taking with the KA-50. I myself perfer a A/G role, not really a A/A jockey. With the current situation, A/G is not that exciting to be honest. Yes, you have weapons systems to learn but, anything other than single player is boring. Online you can not have players join and see objects destroyed prior, no campaign. Difficult to use mission editor to make a realistic battlefront. It seems to me a Mission Orientated training flight. The real battle is human -vs-human in the A/A role. Eventhough this is not my cup of tea, this is where the most interaction comes to play with multiple users online. We see this on hyperlobby. Without concrete data to prove this but I would say most users are A/A jocks. These A/A jocks are feeling the pressure of this being the last big event for Lockon. Their hopes are high to have a working A/A role. So what will hold their attention to this title if nothing is improved in this realm of Lockon? People have lack of patience just waiting on a patch, you think they will just stand down and wait for the next title that will take quite some time to be released? Then at the time it is released they have the faith in the A/A role support that was dropped for A/G in Lomac? Lock On,Modern Air Combat. hummm I am compassionate to everyone, ED,A/G jocks, and A/A jocks. I understand business, and personalities. It will be very interesting to see the decisions made from the development standpoint and the reactions from the users. So, is tank killers next or the F-16 sim. If tank killers is next the A/A jocks will be long gone from lomac and ED I was thinking about tank killers. It will have A-10,Su25,Ka50, and unknown secondary Helo. How about human players being able to drive the tanks for each side. Will it also have the A/A planes to add support? Will the new titles support multiple CPU's ? Latest DX? People will move on in their hardware. Vista and Dx10 can not be ignored. I am not complaining, just trying to view things from all sides of the fence. To those that think people are complaining, read this quote that I was taught in business courses. “When a customer complains, he is doing you a special favor; he is giving you another chance to serve him to his satisfaction. You will appreciate the importance of this opportunity when you consider that the customer’s alternate option was to desert you for the competitor.” Quote by, Seymour H. Ice Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Matt Wagner's "Educated and informed personal opinion" which I, agree with is Whilst Ubi Shaft have IP rights to Lock-on which means the flyable models and the thaetre whithin which we are currently using, ED's hands are somewhat tied. It would seem to me that anything "New" like the Su25T, Advanced flight models and new areas of theatre do not belong to Ubi. These may "In the Fullness of time" be transferred into a new Simulator in a new theatre with new flyables (maybe an F16). Until we see a new theatre or boxed sim it is absolutlely pointless in asking for improvements on what is/was released with 1.02.
