same for me when placing an 109 as "uncontrolled" on the ramp, engine sounds can be heard.

There is a Huey starting up and taking off in the background - that is where the extra engine sounds come from!

 

I honestly don't know why they'd add an extra aircraft in any newly introduced module - unless of course it is there to mask some shortcoming in the new module? Frankly I thought it would be far far better to let us hear the 109 on it's own.

 

I haven't tried the 109 on it's own yet however.

If you are referring to the cold start mission I don't think it is to "hide" anything at all. I believe it is more to create the atmosphere of an active airfield. Besides, you just have to wait for the Huey to fly off and you can resume in silence if you wish.

i dont think they intended to hide anything in that mission...but a huey is the worst choice in my view...why not another ai 109?or fw190 ai...there is lots to choose to make the airfield more immersive.also, as soon as they huey is starting its engine it can be tricky to hear whether the ground crew is spooling you up...

 

EDIT: but quite frankly, its definitely not something important at all...

Yep, maybe not to mask anything, but it does seem a very strange choice to include a Huey, as already said, why not something more contemporary, and in keeping with a Luftwaffe airstrip?

what I did was open that mission in the editor, then I just checked the box, to disable the helo flight. I'm sure that I could have just deleted it and replace with another 109, but I wanted silence
