Thanks for any input. I used to play LOMAC many moons ago, on an old XP machine, and I'd like to dabble in it again.

pickafivestring Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 My bad. The specs I listed are for my current computer. What I meant was I didn't want to buy FC3 without knowing if my computer will run it. Sorry for the dumb question, but isn't DCS World just the scenery that the "modules" operate in? Tim

Tim Then HiJack was right. DCS World includes two flyable aircraft. An Su-25T and a TF-51. So you can test prop and jet aircraft. HiJack Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Comes with 2 aircraft to spool up. Get going!
pickafivestring Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Alright then. Time to dust off the 'ol stick and throttle, and see what happens. Thank you. Tim

Devrim Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Your system is good enough to me. Your gfx card seems OK, but I'm not sure about CPU. If you won't set all options "high", you will able to get a reasonable FPS in game, in my opinion. My system specs are below. You can compare. I get 40~70 FPS in game with high details and mods, but can't say anything for multiplayer environment. I get very lower FPS, I don't know the reason... pickafivestring Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Well, it took two tries, but I finally got DCS World downloaded without any corrupt files. Dragged out my ancient Saitek X45 HOTAS, and fired up the simulator. Everything ran very smooth on the default settings. I haven't tried to bump up the graphics, but I'm more about smooth game play instead of eye candy. Don't get me wrong, ideally I want both, but the compromise for me is always FPS over looks. Now to just bide my time until they have another sale, and then grab FC3. Tim
HiJack Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Welcome back to DCS then :) Glad you had a test run that worked out. There are some quite good Su-25T missions you could try while waiting!
