7rooper Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I'm really interested in the glareshield and Fire Pull handles. I can't wait to order a set My rig specs: Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR
LynxDK Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 Im very happy to hear that :) It will hopefully soon be ready, im working on a stable Detent system for the fire handles, and im waiting for parts. Also working on the handle diffusers, for LED installment. I really have to be sure that the angle from the MIP is right, and that along with making it possible to stiffen the Whole thing with M8 Threaded rods, makes it take a Little time, so im sure that the final result is working as it should. So im sorry for all this taken some time, but there are really alot of Things that will have to be taken into concideration, when it all needs to fit together. i have also ordered some new plate material, to use as the MIP, since MDF is not duable in the long run, and its not happy supporting real gauges. I need to test this material, and then Mount it all, to be sure all the parts fits together. Development takes time, but it should be well worth it in the end. :) Regards. LynxDK Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 RWR Bezel. Altimeter is also done, but i havent figured out how to do the mechanism for the PNEU - ELECT Switch yet. Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 WOW! I only just caught on to this thread but you're doing fantastic work! When you get settled expect me to order some stuff :P Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Hansolo Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Looking good LynxDK  With regard to the altimeter perhaps this one is small enough to implement; http://www.mouser.dk/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=SRBV131803virtualkey68800000virtualkey688-SRBV131803 I know it doesn't have momentary outer positions but until we find a small one that can do that it may work. LynxDK Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 Thank you HMA. Its a Little bit too big to be able to sit between the actual instrument and the screw, but maybe we can find a smaller one. I have been tinkering abit with the idea of 2 small momentary switches mounted in the 3D printed backplate/instrument ring. That simply get activated when you turn the handle, but i havent done an actual drawing of it yet. The faceplate for the Altimeter is done tho, Pictures will follow later. Regards. LynxDK Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 2 small 4mm Tactile switches mounted in the printed backplate. Now just to print the switch handle and make it Work. Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
LynxDK Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 This Works very well indeed. Only need to cover it with a plate now. Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
LynxDK Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Now its not long before i will start taking orders. Of course you need a Price first, and im working now to find out how much time used and what the Price will end at. Im going to start with the Instrument Bezels, which is the RWR, Airspeed Indicator and the Vertical Velocity Indicator. Im still Working on perfecting the Altimeter switch, so that will follow later. There are going to be some choises which will affect the final Price. Such as if you want instrument glass or not, do you want a digital encoder with the product or do you want to buy it yourself. There will be no secrets, if you fx want to buy the encoder yourself, i will link the encoder i build the bezels after, so you can order more. And im trying to use the same encoders, switches, potentiometers thoughout the Whole cockpit build, to minimize confusion. Of course there will be some switches that are difrent. Every Bezel will also get delivered with a 3D printed Backplate, which the instrument ring "tube" is a part of. And to make it easy for you Guys, so you dont have to find all kind of difrent hole saws, i will print the lenght of that tube to fit your cockpit. Which Means i need the distance from the surface that the bezel is going to be mounted on, to the surface of the monitor behind. The bezels will be delivered with screws that they where designed after, so you dont have to worry about finding the right Black screws after that. Depending on the surface you screw them into, you might wanna find out something to fasten it, since some bezels have M3 Threaded bolts, and others (like the HSI) have 4mm Wood screws. I will supply a Template for cutting and drilling that fits the difrent Bezels, and it will be available for download on my website. I have to inform you, that if you order, you can expect up to a month waiting time before i ship the product. I simply say this, because i have my job, and Family to attent to at the same time. This is not going to be a reality every time tho, i will of course try to get Things done asap when i get the order, but as im not making a stock of the products, they are going to get produced for every order, and Things can take time. Keep in mind that the shipping Price will be calculated when the order is ready to ship, which depends on the weight of the package. But also i dont charge any Money before the order is ready to ship, you dont have to pay anything before its done. This was a Little info on whats going to happen in near future, i hope you find the terms reasonable, and also the prices :) which i will release very soon, and i really try to keep it as low as possible. Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
LynxDK Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 Unfortunately one of my Axis on my CNC is not working as it should. Therefore im unable to cut anything atm. But i promised you prices, and i will post those in the following week. I will also accept orders, just keep in mind that i have to get the machine fixed before i can produce anything. I ordered a new and bigger CNC some time ago, but there was some waiting time on delivery, but hopefully it should arrive within the NeXT 3 weeks, so if i dont get the old machine running before then, i will still be able to continue when that arrives. But if you want to order when i release prices, your welcome to do so, it shouldnt take more than 1 month before i can ship it :) For now i will post a Picture of the bended Aluminum pipe for the LDG Handle. Im working on the knob design. Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram

LynxDK Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) First Price Update. Im starting off with the Vertical Velocity Indicator Bezel. This is going to be one of the cheapest, since there is no engravings, Rotarys or any need for milling the backside of the bezel. Its made of 8mm Acrylic, with 3 Screws for mounting, and 1 small screw for show. It has a 3D Printed Backplate which is 5mm high, with a Gauge Ring which will be printed to match your MIP depth to the Monitor behind it. It will be available with or without 2mm clear acrylic glass, which you have to Mount themself. Its a tight fit, so you can choose if you want to glue it in place, or not. So here you are: VVI Bezel Without Glass: 186,8 DKK VVI Bezel With Glass: 230,6 DKK It will of course be listed in the for sale threat on the forums, but im going to wait with that until the new machine is up and running. You can also buy single glasses for your bezels later on, if you dont want them right away. I will take orders from now on from those who are interested, But i cannot promise an exact date for delivery, before i get my new machine. The next instrument bezel prices are following soon. I hope ive done it cheap enough for you guys, tho this is the cheapest, and Price will go up on the more advanced bezels. I have done my best to keep the costs Down :) Edited September 21, 2015 by LynxDK Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram

LynxDK Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) Firehandles with Switch Box is now ready. Complete box, with switch, "click" meachanism and engraved acrylic Firehandle glass. Its 3D Printed and made so it can be mounted in my Glareshield. But its also possible to Mount it in an existing cockpit as stand alone handles. In the handle there is a light Diffuser, so all you have to do is to Mount a small LED, and its backlit. There is no wiring to the Switch or LED, thats up to the buyer to do. The "click" mechanism on the handles are shown in this Little video. The Price for this is 352 DKK per Handle. Which is 1056 DKK for a set of 3 Handles. But if you intend to buy a complete Glareshield, with these 3 handles, im willing to cut the Price for my time assemblying these. Prices for the complete glareshield, or the diffrent stages of the Glareshield that will be for sale, is on the way :) Edited October 28, 2015 by LynxDK Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
