SilentGun Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Hello everyone I know this may be a silly question, but In the ME when I select the f-86f and try to change the payload I noticed that there is no name for the skin of the aircraft and when I tried to install a new skin it doesn't show up. here's what a mean Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales... :)The Future of DCS is a bright one:)
Buzzles Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Where have you installed the skin? DCS is very particular about the folder names, and in the case of the F-86, it's a slightly different name than the one in the /Mods folder. For the F-86 it's: ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\ Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
CHSubZero Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I think he is remarking that the F-86F is not equipped with a selectable skin by default like all other planes/helicopters... If there is just 1 skin by default it's ok, but please make it selectable... Otherwise it looks like not finished Aviation Livery - Explore Military Aircraft Liveries My Mods: DCS User Files
mondaysoff Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\ If there is no "F-86F Sabre" folder at this destination, add it yourself. When I installed this module, this folder was absent. Download skins from the user files section and place here, then you will see them.
SFC Tako Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 When I installed this module, this folder was absent. Same here, but as you've stated - just go ahead and create that folder :) My Semi-Pro Youtube Channel
Home Fries Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Rather than creating the folder in your DCS World folder, why not save it in Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\ ? This keeps it separate from your regular install, so if you have to uninstall/reinstall, or if a patch breaks anything you'll still have your skins in this folder. EDIT: I noticed patches and helmets for other squadrons in the f-86f.zip texture file. Any ETA on when we get those skins? -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Chief1942 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Frries, You Da Man! Rather than creating the folder in your DCS World folder, why not save it in Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\ ? This keeps it separate from your regular install, so if you have to uninstall/reinstall, or if a patch breaks anything you'll still have your skins in this folder. Been having to constantly redo skins after each update. Now you've provided the solution Thanks.
