KLR Rico Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Has there been any thought about what tanker will be used for the Mirage? I'd suggest modding the default KC-135. You could put MPRS (multi point refueling system) pods on it, and then we'd be able to hit both drogue and boom aircraft. The French also employ the KC-135 as well, so that's an even better reason to use it. I could provide some pictures or specs of the MPRS if it's any help. i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
Demongornot Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Since ED work on the F/A-18C Hornet (and Coretex Designs on the E) and since this aircraft use a drogue system for refueling, i won't worry about it, i'm sure the Hornet will be release before the Mirage, so we will have a new or a modified tanker with drogue before the Mirage is release ! emg Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 M2M (who are collaborating with Razbam on DCS M2k) made an AI KC-135 that comes with their FSX M2k, apparently. https://www.facebook.com/Metal2Mesh.Development/posts/783545128384358

Random Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 ?????? Hornet released before the Mirage???? Where did you get that intel? That was from January this year.... IIRC things were a lot quieter on the Mirage front back then.
QuiGon Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 The tanker question is indeed a good question. I would also like to have some clarification on that. Will we get a usable tanker for the Mirage soon or do we really have to wait for the Hornet release? Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Will we get a usable tanker for the Mirage soon or do we really have to wait for the Hornet release? The S-3B that the Hornet will use is already available in game. Now, if you were referring to a buddy tanking capability then that is not a Hornet capability. Only the Super Hornet has that as one of its mission sets. Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"

Is the M2000 capable of buddy AAR btw? You're right, we have the Viking. I've never seen it in DCS so far. I hope it works with the M2000 and will be included on multiplayer missions then. I still hope we'll get an upgraded KC-135 or something similar (A330 MRTT :)) though. Moos_tachu Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Until we get a drogue hose C-135 or A330 MRTT, there is another option: Edited September 25, 2015 by Moos_tachu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mud, wind and fire.

Yes, there were very few Mirage 2000C airframe capable of acting as tanker. It was more for training than operational and it doesn't worths the pain to do it in DCS. Mirage fanatic !
